essence AT LADAKH — Hotel in Ladakh Range

We recently stayed at Essence in Mid-April. We booked 2 rooms and hence were allotted a cottage unit. ( Bonus points)

If I go by hierarchy then let me start with Mr. Shardul and Ms.Steni. They as managing chiefs were extremely warm, helpful, approachable and courteous. Happy to help at all hours. Ms. Steni made sure that we feel at home by getting us hot soups while we acclamatised on day one and the cooking staff was very well informed by her of some food allergy my daughter had.

The Food manager Ms. Angmo was an adorable Ladakhi woman. Made sure we get what we wished to eat even if she had to get it off the menu.

The serving staff, the chefs team and the house keeping staff all stood true to the ESSENCE of Ladakh i.e. warmth and hospitality.

I would highly recommend this hotel for everything.

Location: perfectly situated as it is a little away from the hustle of the main town yet close to the main market.

Rooms: Perfectly sized, aesthetically on point, a radiator for in room heating and a small heater for bathrooms, 24 hrs electricity and hot running water.

⭐️The brownie point is the fan in the room. Avoids making the room stuffy.

Food: Very delicious and served to personal choice.

Parking: ample and private.

All in all a superb experience and we so look forward to visit...

It was a wonderful experience and vacation, mostly thanks to Essence. Me and my wife researched through multiple hotels while booking the trip to Leh but both agreed to give Essence a chance and THANK GOD for that. I have been to Leh before and stayed in a different hotel and it completely ruined my whole experience of the beautiful place Ladakh almost to a point where I was questioning planning another trip but Essence has made me fall in love with the place again. The rooms are clean and modernly designed but still kept the Ladakhi vibe and persona. It created a perfect balance of experiencing local atmosphere with the touch of all modern and luxury amenities you can expect in a great hotel. The staff at the front and through out the hotel are really friendly and are really knowledgeable as well in terms of planning and advising on things to do while I was there. The food and service was great, me and my wife found ourselves eating at the hotel more frequently then we would have thought while planning the trip as it boasts great range of options and I believe there is something in the menu for everyone.

Overall me and my wife are convinced that Essence is the hotel for us every time we are planning to visit the great ladakh, thank you Essence for your great hospitality. Highly...

An absolute delight of a place in Leh. Full marks on the aesthetics and cleanliness. I don’t think I’ve seen such finely done rooms and bathrooms even in several 5-7 star properties. I adored the quaint courtyards and property layout. This is going to be my permanent address in Leh through the subsequent visits.

However, I suggest some crucial areas of improvement : -

1. The rooms must be equipped with safes for valuables.
2. The charging points in the rooms are insufficient.
3. Coffee needs improvement.
4. The food was excessively spicy and needs improvement. The mushroom galoutis were fantastic, but everything else needs balancing out.
5. And most importantly, the Google Maps location of the place is highly misguiding. The property is situated in the inroads of Leh, and Google Maps lead us to the back area of the resort with no entry point. We spent 20 minutes looking for it and the lack of any signage’s doesn’t help. Fortunately, the hotel staff was kind enough to send someone across to help us navigate.

Special mention to the highly courteous, pleasant and helpful front office staff, who even helped us secure an inner line permit at the last minute.
