ILIF 2706 Western Breeze Villas — Hotel in Maharashtra

During our recent stay at ILIF 2706 Western Breeze Villas in the last week of November 2024, I was truly amazed at the level of comfort, hospitality and attention to detail offered by this property at such affordable prices. It is a perfect retreat for those looking for relaxation with good service.

Room Service and Accommodation: The room service was excellent. The staff was prompt, professional and always greeted us with a smile. Every request was attended to quickly. The villas themselves were spacious, properly decorated and equipped with almost all the necessary amenities that ensure a comfortable stay. The cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms reflects the high standards maintained by the property.

Staff and Hospitality: The staff at Western Breeze Villas is one of the highlights of the experience. They were polite, attentive and made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. From the reception to the housekeeping team, everyone made us feel at home.

Food: The food was another special aspect. The menu offered a wide variety of dishes keeping in mind all tastes. Every meal was freshly prepared, and tasted amazing. The breakfast arrangement, in particular, was a great way to start the day, with a mix of local delicacies.

Location and Ambience: Located just a short distance from Nagaon Beach, ILIF 2706 Western Breeze Villas is situated in an excellent location, offering a perfect blend of convenience and tranquility. The soothing sound of the waves and the fresh sea breeze create a calm atmosphere that makes it a perfect getaway. The proximity to Nagaon Beach also makes it easy to indulge in water sports and explore local attractions, adding a thrilling touch to your stay. The approach road to resort is improving very soon.

Property Manager, Mr. Swagatham: A special mention goes to the property manager, Mr. Swagatham, who really elevated our experience. His warm personality, attention to detail, and genuine care for guests was remarkable. He personally ensured that every aspect of our stay was flawless and even took the time to provide us with local recommendations.

We had high hopes for this hotel because of its spacious cottages and great location, but unfortunately, our experience was spoiled by repeated service failures. We ended up wasting a lot of our time dealing with issues that good management should have prevented.

Cons:

Unprofessional staff attitude: The staff seemed disinterested in helping guests — more occupied with watching Reels on their phones than actually working. It didn’t feel like they cared about repeat customers.

Poor breakfast quality: The Upma served was undercooked, and overall breakfast quality was disappointing. We actually checked out earlier than planned just to have breakfast elsewhere.

Billing issues: Always double-check your food bill. We were charged for breakfast even though it was complimentary, and only after pointing it out did they correct it.

Frequent power cuts: Power interruptions were common and quite inconvenient.

Improper cleaning tools: The washroom was cleaned with a small kitchen wiper — not something you'd expect in a hotel.

Maintenance neglect: The shower wasn’t working. When reported, we were told “nobody complained before.” It was replaced later, but it shouldn’t have been broken in the first place.

TV connectivity issues: The TV couldn’t connect to Wi-Fi. Same response again — “nobody complained.” Eventually, they replaced the TV and it worked fine.

Loose fittings: The door handle was so loose it actually fell off.

Basic amenities missing: No towels or toiletries were provided until we asked.

Unsafe play area: The kids’ play area is right next to the waste bins — unhygienic and poorly thought out.

Pros:

Spacious cottages: The cottage rooms are large and comfortable for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids).

Good location: The hotel is within walking distance to Badami/Nagaon Beach — just be careful of stray dogs and potholes on the way.

Ample parking: Plenty of space available for parking, which is convenient.

We had high hopes for our stay, but unfortunately, several things didn’t meet expectations. First, the menu stated that breakfast is available until 10:30 AM, but the complimentary breakfast actually ends at 9:30 AM. The breakfast itself was quite disappointing – untoasted bread with butter, soggy poha, and surprisingly, peanut chutney served with idli.

The swimming pool timing in the morning also ends at 10:30 AM, which isn't mentioned anywhere clearly. Most guests come to relax, so it's natural to sleep a bit late, but if you want to use the pool, you’re forced to get up early. What was worse – at exactly 10:30, staff started pouring chlorine into the pool while our kids were still in it, which was quite alarming and irresponsible. Additionally, one of the rooms had electrical current in the taps and all metal bathroom fixtures. When this issue was reported to the reception, the staff showed little concern.

We had booked rooms on the first floor but were given ground floor rooms instead. After raising the issue, they managed to shift one room to the first floor and offered a one-hour extension after check-out, which was the least they could do.

Lastly, they offer a free scoop of ice cream if you post a Google review – though it feels like that’s only encouraged for positive reviews.
