OCEANS PEARL RESORT — Hotel in Maharashtra

We recently visited Alibaug and booked a stay at Ocean Pearl Resort, and it turned out to be the worst experience ever. Right from the moment we arrived, there was no caretaker at the entrance. After hours of travelling, we were tired and our phones were low on charge, so we used a switch near the pool just to plug in our charger.

After almost one hour, the caretaker finally showed up, and his behaviour was extremely rude. Instead of greeting us or helping us with check-in, he started shouting and demanding money upfront. Even after the room was allotted, he came again and started yelling at us for switching on the plug point. He claimed that their water tanker got empty because of us and demanded ₹1000–₹2000 extra, which made no sense at all.

What shocked us even more was that the owner was equally rude. He took no action against the caretaker and was only interested in taking money from us. When it came to providing service, both of them ignored our calls and behaved carelessly.

Now let’s talk about the room and facilities — which were a complete disaster:

The balcony was in horrible condition

TV wasn’t working

Bathroom was dirty and poorly maintained

The caretaker never did his actual work, but was always ready to argue

Even the music speaker wasn’t working

And the funniest—or rather shameful—part was that they charged us even for basic things like a glass of water

This resort is nothing but a total waste of money. They don’t know how to talk, don’t provide any proper service, and only know how to take money. The owner answers the phone only while booking, but when it's time for support, his phone is switched off.

I strongly warn everyone — do NOT book Ocean Pearl Resort. Such hotels should be shut down for scamming customers and providing zero hospitality.

Please think twice before going there. Save your money and...

My experience here was very nice. Their room, swimming pool and the rest of the area are very clean and very beautiful. I have visited here twice. Both times my experience was very nice and even if I come back to Alibaug, I will visit here. Their staff is two aunts and one uncle... Uncle is very nice and if there are two aunts, they are also very nice to talk to. All of them are beautiful. Their food, breakfast at night when we went was very tasty. Shabad chicken bhakri, rice chicken curry, Sukh chicken, we ate very tasty. However, there was no shortage in the food. No matter how much you eat, it never ends. There were nine of us. Nine people ate very full.... We had a great riot. We enjoyed it a lot. Both times, we had a great breakfast. Now I ate bhurji pav. It was very tasty. In the afternoon, uncle gave us the option of surmai or paplette. When I first came, fish food was also very tasty, so there was no doubt. Some of us had surmai. I told them and some people said paplette was so delicious. The fried surmai and paplette with chapatti, rice and sweet dish with gulab jam. Everything was very tasty. I still miss that paplette a lot and the chicken too... Uncle and aunt's behavior is very nice.. Uncle is very funny and aunt is also very nice to talk to... If we come to Alibaug again, we will definitely come here... I don't feel any lack after coming...

Resort Name: Ocean Pearl Our experience at this resort was absolutely terrible. The room was not maintained properly, the bathroom was in an awful condition, and the balcony was extremely dirty — I’ll be attaching a video for proof. Anyone planning to visit here should definitely see it first.

At the poolside, there was a charging point where I plugged in my phone, but it wasn’t working. So, I switched on the nearby button, and then it started charging. Later, when the caretaker came, he said, “Who turned on this switch?” I explained that I only turned it on to charge my phone. If guests weren’t supposed to touch it, they should have clearly mentioned “Do not touch” or “For staff use only” — but there was no such notice. Still, they charged us ₹800 for it!

The sound system near the pool also wasn’t working properly, so we couldn’t enjoy the pool as we wanted. At night, we brought some food from outside and asked the caretaker for plates. He rudely said, “We don’t provide plates for outside food.” He eventually gave us the plates but taunted us, saying things like, “They bring food from outside and expect us to wash their plates.” Even then, before checking out, we made sure to wash and return the plates ourselves.

Overall, it was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone — you’ll only end up...
