We stayed for a couple of days here. In spite of the photos of the property looking good, we found that the rooms are not maintained and cleaned well. It does have an old world charm, but that doesn't translate itself to the coziness that is portrayed through the photos. We arrived at around 11 in the night, and were asked to order the items for breakfast as it is made to consume. We did, and the next morning we realized that the staff had messed that up and the breakfast was short. There are no seconds helpings -- one Puri Bhaji means only 2 Puris, god forbid if you want 3, you and your party will go hungry, and the staff will flatly refuse to accommodate anything for you. They don't have an in-house cook. The Breakfast timings are between 8.30 am to 10 am, no request for change is entertained. I wonder if they don't have a cook, why do they even have the fixed breakfast timings. But this is a problem with the whole of North East India (Assam and Meghalaya at least), it seems. The day may start at 5 am, but it's incredibly unfriendly to tourists. Our request to serve us breakfast even 30 mins before were denied flatly at multiple places. This leaves a bad taste in the mouth. (Pun not intended)
Aside from the food, the blanket provided to us barely reached our neck, we had to request another one at night. Only a single towel in the room was provided between two people. I still don't understand the logic behind this. There is no bottled water; what's provided is the in-house water in a glass bottle. This wouldn't be a problem usually, but I found that the cork of the bottle wasn't clean. The "staff" was only one young guy in the whole of the property. While he was prompt, the curt refusals in many of the things didn't feel right. There was a power outage one of the evenings, and they didn't have sufficient backup. I see other reviews mentioning the same, and if it's that common, they should have a backup available.
Would...
Read moreLocation , view, service everything is good. But the furnitures of room was not very well maintained. We took the executive room and was charged 4000.00 per night, without breakfast. After every 10minute there was a foul smell in room. We were provided room freshners later. The blanket was smelling a little off and was no cover put on it. Wooden furnitures were not very clean, sticky and dusty. The 2 chairs beside the coffee table was old and was shaking while sitting. There was powercut in evening, which is not their fault. But funny thing is no one came to offer any candle or light or anything. Finally i took my mobile torch and went looking for staffs for help. It was pitch black in the room and outside. My mother stuck in washroom. It would have been nice if any power backup was there, or atleast emergency lights were given in room.
Staffs were helpful though. Its a great property, but needs a little maintenance and replacement of...
Read moreWe 4 adults and 2 kids stayed here 2 nights. Our travel agency booked this room. The room which we stay here is not same as she shared photos with us. The room which were offered doesn't have any window. There rooms are in basement. Bathroom had a open jammed window which was unable to close. Think of this horrible experience. They want dinner order at 4PM. We reached the property at 7:30 PM. They want order for breakfast at the same time because they don't have inhouse cook. Surprisingly you can only order one item for your meal either Poori-Bhazi or Aalu paratha with watery sabji(yes you read it right watery).Next day We want tea at 7 AM as we have to leave for our next day trip. But they unable to manage this also. They are treating tourist like nothing. I don't know why they didn't inform this while booking your...
