The Loft is another one of those places that I pass by but never remember to enter. I always end up getting the Hotdog from Flavours downstairs. Anyway thanks to @wandanongbri24 for reminding me & recommending me this place.

So today after coming back from Secretariat, I stopped & made my way inside. I was greeted by a rather steely looking panoply fully dressed for battle . I made my way up & there was another. Infact I found one more in the dining room. The dining room looked like a page out of a Hollywood prop room with plenty of memorabilia. You could see James Bond staring at the portraits of leading ladies hung across the wall. There were plenty of mediaeval knick knacks as well. There was a nice pleasant outdoor dining space too but I was so caught up admiring the memorabilia too much.

I had a look at the menu, it had Chinese & Continental options. I've been wanting to eat continental for the longest time so I ordered a grilled chicken in lemon butter sauce that came along with veggies & herb rice.

As I waited, I was surely impressed by how much effort had gone into making this room. The food came, it had 4pcs of medium sized grilled chicken cooked in a light sauce with a decent portion of sauted veggies & a small portion of herb rice. The veggies still had a good crunch to them & had some condiments added. The rice was also nice, light, fluffy & not overly herby. The lemon butter sauce was tasty but a couple of pcs of chicken were overdone & became too dry. Unfortunately, even the tasty sauce couldn't do much either, else it was a decent meal in a super cool place.

I'll definitely come back to explore more.

Decent food, pocket friendly prices, but the buck stops there. The service is very shoddy.

We ordered for a soup, potato Jackets, veg momos, and fried rice.

We weren't served any water until we requested for it and even then, we were served only the chargeable bottled water rather than the free potable water that eateries are legally bound to serve.

But that's not the concern - the food take ages to arrive and we got Potato Wedges the first time and had to remind the waiter that we asked for Potato Jackets.

A wait for 30 minutes and then we get some Fish based dish, with the waiter reassuring that those were Potato Jackets. I requested to have a word with the chef after I realized I was getting nowhere with the waiter despite showing him how Potato Jackets would look like.

2 mins later, the waiter rushes to inform there was a mistake and that my Potato Jackets are cooking and would be ready in 5 minutes. Ofc, follows another 30 minute wait. By this point, we have spent close to 1.5 hours in the restaurant and nothing seems to be happening, so we had to walk out.

At least they had the courtesy to waive those never-arrived Potato Jackets from the bill.

Such a shame considering the waiters and hostess were polite throughout and the ambience is amazing. Shoddy service...

If you're there for the food, you won't be disappointed because they have a variety of tasty options with good portion sizes. But don't expect to find any tea in any form. I'm not a coffee person so you'll have to decide that part by yourself. As for the ambience, it has a cozy feel with a farrago of western cultural elements like Mr. Bean and James Bond cut outs staring at a picture of Scarlett Johansson or Miley Cyrus while you're sitting next to a 'Cars' or SpongeBob collectable, as you're holding a book on modern architecture. You have little gnomes and cupid all around you, with a wave of nostalgia hitting you as your eyes rest upon a Gryffindor flag. You will be greater by a knight of the Crusades with the red cross atop his shoulder the moment you enter. In short, keeping a conversation with someone will never be difficult as there is always something interesting to find and reason to laugh and be merry. I'll definitely be going back despite the fact that the staff have terrible taste in music 😂. Hope this...
