||Six of us stayed in Kandivali for a week occupying three rooms so can provide honest, detailed feedback. ||Positives: Rooms had a bed, shower, TV and wonderful photographs of its rooms online.||Simran and Harish, the two receptionists were always polite, charming and helpful. They were courteous and calm at all times. ||Rooms are cheap. You get what you pay for. We had to stay in Kandivali to complete our banking otherwise would never have chosen this hotel.||All the young male workers who clean and service the rooms are polite and respectful. No complaints at all about their conduct and manners. They live on site but I wonder if they ever go out of the hotel.||Negatives: when we arrived an hour early, our rooms were not ready and were told to wait ten minutes. This waiting “ten minutes” continued for several hours before we could occupy them. ||Hotel is run down and need of repair. Lots of wobbly hand rails, broken tiles, fixtures and fittings. They need a long plastic doormat at the entrance to prevent accidents and slipping during heavy monsoon rains. I have suggested it but am confident nothing will happen. ||Towels and sheets are washed but very old and stained. Minimal toiletries, toilet paper provided if requested. ||Mr Pintu Yadav, the manager was very rude to me from the start. His tone is uncultured, patronising and condescending. I asked for a kettle and he told me to go to the shop and buy one! Apparently, they are only available in deluxe rooms. When I asked to see such a room, there was no difference at all. He reluctantly gave me a kettle after I made a fuss. He later proceeded to talk about me loudly to his staff saying that I’ve come down ten times already demanding things. I calmly went down and said, “I will come down eleven times or more if I wish” and not to talk about me so loudly. ||He is clearly an unhappy man. He also appears to bully his staff. This continued for several days. However, after day 4, he hardly spoke which was an improvement. ||The old man at reception (maybe Satish?) was a friendly opportunist. I asked for a little fresh milk for one cup of tea. He provided it for R/s.40. I later asked if I could exchange old R/s 2000 notes. He said it was no problem and asked how many I had. I showed him twenty such notes. He took them, changed a few then said he would bring the rest later to my room. I politely declined. Later, he said that he could change them all at a discount. He said banks will charge me R/s 200 per note but he could do it for Rs100. How enterprising! |I managed to change all my notes at the banks for free. He repeatedly asked if I’d written my hotel review. He said I would only complain online but I assured him that I would only tell the truth.||The bar downstairs means that there is loud music every night until 1am. One morning, I heard the tv from the next room blaring loudly at 3am. I knocked on the door only to hear more unwelcome sounds. I soon realised that this hotel welcomes guests by the hour. No wonder the management are not used to families requesting basics like kettle, soap etc.||More worryingly, I booked online via Booking.com. I immediately got an email from Casa Stays who manage the online bookings who offered a 10% discount if I paid upfront and only the. would they reserve my rooms. The link is clearly suspicious and I needed up paying R/s 42000 TWICE a from my bank account. They did not reply to my emails nor texts and I only received automated responses. Fortunately, my bank reimbursed me one of the payments. There is clearly a scam in operation. When I raised this at the hotel, they were not willing to assist. ||Conclusion: You do get what you pay for. This is fine if you’re on a shoestring budget and it’s a notch up from camping. It’s undoubtedly the Indian Fawlty Towers Experience which I won’t be...
Read moreHotel is known by 2 names. (Hotel Glamour). So firstly that confusion needs to be addressed. Place is not owned by Fab group of hotels but more like Ola & Uber where only the service is sold under the brand of Fab hotels but in reality it's owned by owners of the original hotel.
No parking available, so you need to search for pay n park in the adjacent commercial complex and pay ridiculously high charges for it too. (200 for 12 hours.)
Entrance to the bldg is pathetic & Lobby of hotel is bad too. Makes you doubt your choice.
Service is poor as staff took multiple reminders to bring in the toiletries still missed out some. Hotel management needs to have basic sense to provide toiletries as per number of occupants as the fare is paid accordingly.
Rooms are good but anything ordered in room service is to be paid on the spot as it's all supplied from outside shops. Plus they charge you 50% extra of the price, don't understand why would they do that (30 for a bisleri bottle costing 20 and that too was some unknown mineral water brand).
Overall verdict - Overpriced as per the overall experience, only the interior is good as it appears in the images but in reality rooms are smaller than they appear in...
Read moreI recently stayed at FabExpress Spring Inn, which I booked online, and I have to say I was extremely disappointed with my experience. Firstly, the location was terrible. It was situated in a run-down area with no nearby attractions or decent restaurants. The noise levels from the street were unbearable and I was unable to get a good night's sleep. The surrounding area was also unpleasant and felt unsafe. The staff at the hotel were also unhelpful and rude, making my stay very unpleasant. Whenever I had a query or issue, they seemed annoyed and inconvenienced by my presence. The service at the hotel was also terrible. My room was not cleaned properly, and there were stains on the sheets and towels. Despite multiple requests to have them changed, it took a long time for someone to come and replace them. I booked it for four nights however I checked out only after my first night at the hotel. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The location, staff and service were all very poor, and I was left feeling very dissatisfied...
