I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Sahil Hotel in Mumbai Central for a one-day trip with my family, where we booked three rooms for three different families. Our main purpose for visiting Mumbai was to seek the divine blessings of Lalbaug Ganpati, and our stay at The Sahil Hotel added an extra layer of delight to our experience.
Our check-in process began around 1:30 PM, and although it took a bit of time for room allocation due to the necessary ID verification and check-in formalities, the wait was well worth it. As evening approached, we decided to explore the hotel's dining options and settled for the unlimited buffet they offered. One of the standout features of this buffet was that it included both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options at the same price. The starters were particularly mouthwatering.
During our meal, we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Girish, a talented 20-year-old chef working at the hotel. His ambition and dedication were truly inspiring. We couldn't resist trying his creations, which included Broccoli Almond Soup and street food favorites like Pani Puri and Shev Puri. Each dish was a burst of flavors and left us wanting more.
The quality of the rooms and the overall service provided by the staff were excellent. It was evident that The Sahil Hotel prided itself on maintaining high standards for its guests, and we certainly felt well taken care of throughout our stay.
The following morning, we were treated to a hearty breakfast spread that catered to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences. The menu included items like Idli, Sambhar, Dosa, Khaman, Gota Bhaji, Cookies, Chocos, Pastries, Bread, Butter, and more. It was a delightful start to our day.
I must also commend Ms. Foram, the Customer Relationship Executive, who went above and beyond to make our stay even more pleasant. She was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. In a particularly sweet gesture, even after the breakfast counter had closed, she arranged a parcel of Chocos for my daughter, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Ms. Foram took the time to note down our feedback and concerns, ensuring that any issues were addressed promptly. Her dedication to guest satisfaction was truly commendable.
In summary, our stay at The Sahil Hotel in Mumbai Central was an unforgettable experience. The combination of delicious food, excellent room quality, and top-notch service made it a fantastic choice for our visit to Mumbai. I wholeheartedly recommend The Sahil Hotel to anyone planning to stay in Mumbai, and I look forward to returning here on my future visits to the city. Thank you, Sahil Hotel, for making our trip...
Read moreI stayed at the hotel for 6 days starting from Monday till Saturday. I'll not divide this review into a pros and cons but will try to state my observations regarding different aspects of the stay.
Morning Buffet: Tasty food no doubt about it. One of the server named Salauddin was very prompt in catering to the requests of the guests. The variety was good enough for me with a healthy mix of South Indian and north Indian dishes that people generally have in breakfast. Apart from this i would like to note that I missed any sort of good muffins/donuts in the breakfast. The watermelon juice was was very tasty and if i was capable i would have drank the whole pitcher. Although I do have some issue with the space, once more guests join in it feels cramped and difficult to navigate. However the servers make sure that everyone have a nice experience so kudos to them.
Gym: I don't know if the classification of a business hotel led to this but the gym is very tiny with limited machines. It's just a treadmill, cycle, a bench and a few training weights. So this was a big downside for me personally.
Room service: I was disappointed overall with the room service because I tried to order their restaurants signature dish Nalli Nihari and it was not available. I was like ok let's try another signature then(total 3 btw). After almost spending 15 minutes on this got to know that no signature dish was available. Mind you this was not a late night request, the request was made around 8:30 PM on a Thursday. So was really disappointed that I could not have their own signature dish. Ordered in the end narm dill murgh( it's their take on butter chicken) which was delicious and fairly priced as well.
Location: Again not holding it against the hotel but getting a cab from anywhere to the hotel in the evening was tough. I would blame the overall circumstance for it but it was tough for me to get a cab in worli to the hotel in the evening ( it's just a 5 km drive).
Staff: The staff i encountered was pleasant and Swift throughout my stay so kudos to them for maintaining the hospitality standards.
Room quality: Good but the TV unit is useless since you can not enjoy any sports channel. I didn't ask for it either so maybe check in with the staff if those channels could be made available.

Read moreOur experience at sahil hotel was completely thrash we had booked thier banquet for our wedding function in 2,39,000 and the service we have received was not even worthy of 2 star hotel , and these people call it a 4 star hotel . Starting from getting our check in rooms which we had priorly booked ,these people almost took an hour as there was literally no coordination between their staff ,as they had a trainee standing at the reception desk to getting our room key cards blocked due to some issues .
Their room service and reception desk was awful and i was getting pissed calling them ten times and them not answering and apologising multiple times, as if they were doing us a huge favour, is this how they treat their guest ?
Addition to this they had told us that their 7th floor banquet hall had the capacity to manage 200 - 300 guest but their so called banquet was wholly crowed with just 70 guest and it was suffocating for not only us but also for others present there .We had booked them for 150 guest or more and these fraudsters have told us that they charge according to their platter system, what about the whole charge they have taken even when we had less guest attending,on what basis have they charged us the whole 180 guest payment? WHERE IS OUR REFUND.?
These people have not even provided us parking even after telling us we had 8-10 car parking available .
And it's not like this was our first banquet function we had our last function in COMFORT INN HEEITAGE ( BYCULLA) and I must say that hotel was totally worth the cost and money we had spent on them as be it their service , hospitality ,rooms and accommodation it was really superb and I totally regret conducting my daughter's wedding ceremony here as trusting this scam hotel to make it a memorable one .
The whole point of me taking taking out my time and writing this review was to alert people to NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL for your ceremonies as this hotel can hardly manage 70 people and they will scam you telling that they will show their banquet one day before the function and then you realise after making the payment . Just because of this low quality hotel so many of my friend and officers left without having food because it was so patheticly overcrowed and was causing...
