THERE IS NOTHING DECENT TO SAY ABOUT HOTEL DECENT SUITES, ITS AWFUL LOCATION OR ITS RUDE MANAGEMENT!||||My daughter and I have just returned from a memorable 3-week trip to India, apart from two instances, one of these being our unfortunate stay at Hotel Decent Suites in Delhi. We made the mistake of booking this apology of a hotel at the beginning and end of our holiday as we were flying in and out of Delhi at both ends of our trip and wanted the convenience of staying near the airport. What a lie!! The hotel claims to be near the airport but that is not true as it is situated in a highly congested, polluted and run-down area of Mahipalpur, which in itself is a "total dive" and is a 20-minute taxi ride from the airport! Every taxi driver we used got lost and could not find the hotel as, once you hit this awful and tacky neon-lit main road in Mahipalpur, one has to make a left turn (blink and you'll miss it!) and then navigate through this maze of narrow bumpy roads with countless unkempt and dimly lit alleyways branching out at regular intervals. We arrived at midnight and this was not the start to the holiday that we wanted. The hotel offers airport transfers for a staggering 850 INR, claiming that they have to pay for airport parking charges, and this is a total scam as they clearly instruct you to phone them on arrival and wait for 20 minutes for the transfer. So, there are NO airport parking charges incurred by Hotel Decent Suites. However, the prepaid taxi at Delhi airport only charged us 350 INR and I would advise everyone travelling to India to avail of the cheap and fair transfer charges at the Government Prepaid Taxis counter. The main manager/owner of the hotel is downright rude and very abrupt and was not interested in helping us with any sight-seeing information unless he made some money out of it by using his taxi contacts. The room was very small, the TV did not work, the windows opened on what looked like a "bombsite" with rubble, dust and loose wiring, etc. We could not wait to get out of there as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we had to return to this hotel at the end of our trip as we were flying back from Kochi to Delhi, arriving at 1am and then flying from Delhi to London with 5 hours in between to sleep. Again, the airport taxi got lost and we had to help him find this hotel only to be told by this rude manager on our arrival that there was a problem with our room which meant that we had to move to another hotel. He did not warn, or message, me beforehand either via email, or WhatsApp as he should have done. This was 1am in the morning and we were totally exhausted. There was no apology, or proper explanation, from this rude manager who kept saying that we had no other option but to go to this alternative hotel which was supposedly only "two roads away". Suddenly, a car pulls up and he tells us that he will be accompanying us to the new hotel. This was a very worrying period for us as it was dark and we are suddenly travelling in this random car to a random hotel. A good 15 minutes later, we arrive at Hotel de Capitol and he assures us that the rooms are better here. Please note that there is no lift in this hotel. The rooms were bigger and more spacious but the hot water was not working. There are hardly any staff around and those who are there are rude and disinterested. The next morning we came down for breakfast 30 minutes before the end of service, and, like several other guests there, we were shocked to see virtually nothing available to eat. There were literally 3 hot trays on the table - one with two boiled eggs, one had four rotis and one literally had the scrapings of a "curried" pasta. There was some bread and a toaster but no butter or jam, etc. The masala chai urn was virtually empty. Despite all of us complaining about the lack of breakfast available, there were no designated restaurant staff around and the staff at reception, who could see this whole fiasco unfolding in front of their eyes, as reception overlooks the breakfast area, were totally disinterested and kept telling us that there was no more breakfast even though we arrived 30 minutes before end of service. It was an absolute awful experience at both ends of our holiday and I would advise you NOT to choose Hotel Decent Suites or Hotel de Capitol as both these establishments seem to be run by the same management who should clearly not be in the hospitality sector! CHEAP is not always CHEERFUL and there is nothing "decent" about Hotel Decent Suites on all fronts, including the rude and...
Read moreWe had booked a room at Hotel Decent Suites for 19th June through Agoda. Booking ID : 1282037769. |On 18/06/24 at about 14.00 hrs we had telephonically informed the Hotel that we are coming from Dehradun by Shatabdi & will be checking in around midnight. When we reached the Hotel, we were told by the Reception Desk that there is a problem & we will have to stay in another hotel just after we had released our taxi, & also denied that we had paid for the breakfast.. The receptionist also said if I have a problem then I should speak to Agoda & not to him. As that was not the time to call Agoda, we relented & proceeded to the next hotel.|We were made to walk to that hotel (Hotel Smart Signature) after a tiring train journey. The room has a NON FUNCTIONAL WINDOW AC.|We had chosen this hotel as it near the airport and it was also listed in your portal, & we have a morning flight to catch. When we asked for early breakfast, they declined to provide (though they have a sticker in the room saying "24×7 Kitchen Open") On our insistence, they agreed to pack some toast & eggs.|We are shocked at the attitude & behaviour of Hotel Decent Suites. If I had the authority or influence, I would have immediately delisted this Hotel Decent Suite from your portal so that other guests do not go through such harassment after midnight & your organisation does not earn disrepute in this competitive business.|We will appreciate if you would let us know what action you have taken for our comfort in future transactions.|S K CHOWDHURI &...
Read morePlease read the review and upvote so other can be warned editing my 5 star review done by the crooks sitting in the reception.
These crooks scammed me by taking away my phone and reviewing themself 5 stars (felt betrayed, and I spent almost 40 minutes to reset all my accounts). I instantly knew who was checking in as they scammed everyone by making a review as they were checking in. They would ask your phone to check the booking number and make you busy to enter details in a register. They will try to distract you and stall you until they do the review. You can see the reviews of guests and can hear them checking in from your room itself.
Everything felt sketchy, nothing looked like the pictures shared by the owner. Towels and bed sheets had dirt marks on them. Hair and bloodstains on the bedsheets. Staff was nice and helped us change into 4 rooms until we found an acceptable room without the potent smell of mould and naphthalene. The location was scary and even being Indian; I felt unsafe in this area.
My wife didn't even take a shower as she was scared of the dirt and mouldy bathroom floor.
I don't even know why this hotel is allwoed to operate and is being allowed to scam people. It's definitely giving a bad image to us Indians...
