Biggest Scammers Alert! ⚠️⚠️⚠️‼️‼️‼️
Scriptwriter: Hotel receptionist Actors: Taxi driver, a well-spoken “gentleman” (posing as an Ola/Uber driver)
The Scam Story
As soon as you land at the airport and start looking for a cab to your hotel, a man approaches you, claiming he can arrange a cab that’s cheaper than online bookings. Thinking he’s being helpful, you agree. But the moment you see the rundown vehicle, the second actor steps in—a smooth talker who sweet-talks you into trusting him.
First, they ask where you plan to stay. If you mention a specific hotel, they immediately try to convince you that they know a “much better” one. Even if you refuse, they insist and take you there anyway.
That’s how you end up at The Grand Shobha—a place where even a public toilet would seem like luxury in comparison. 😅🤣
At the reception, the so-called “hotel manager” confidently tells you the rate is ₹3,000 per night—when, in reality, you could get a far better hotel for ₹1,000.
The nightmare doesn’t stop there. Their kitchen is equally shady. I ordered a vegetarian meal, and they served me chicken instead! When I complained, they simply removed the chicken piece and sent the same dish back. Upon checking again, I still found bits of chicken in it!
Now, imagine being a strict vegetarian and experiencing this twice.
When confronted, the staff always has a pre-prepared script—they’re clearly professional scammers.
🚨 A Warning to All Travelers: If a taxi driver forces you to go to a specific hotel, call emergency services immediately. Don’t fall for their tricks—your night will be a nightmare if you do.
A Message to the Hotel
Your scam is well-scripted, and your actors (especially the taxi drivers) deserve an Oscar for their performance. 🎭
Instead of scamming people, improve your service—customers will come...
Read moreNEVER go to this bad hotel. In all the years we are travelling around the whole world we never had experienced something like this, this hotel and really bad taxi driver ruined our first impression of India. After all we should not have trusted the taxi driver at the airport which was "calling" with our booked hotel, and told us there where 2 covid cases so we couldn't arrive at our booked hotel. After a long night flight we were stupid that we agreed with the option to visit Hotel The Grand Shoba which was known by our taxi driver. The room looked "acceptable" but the price was pretty high. Our phones network didnt worked, so we agreed with a discount and knowing it was only for 1 night. I asked for Wifi but only could get it on the room. With a little bad feeling we checked in. After reaching the room including Wifi, reading all the bad SCAM reviews we immediately checked out. The bad staff didn't feel sorry for the expierence. I told them that they are destroying the first experience for tourists and are a shame for the rest of the beautiful people in India which we may not trust anymore.. We got the half of our money back with a discussion and went to our booked hotel. Happily the rest of the people in India were amazing and they felt sorry for this first Delhi experience. Radisson Blue at the end was 1000000 times better and around...
Read moreScammed with well trained staff and taxi drivers. We traveled from Chennai to Delhi for an interview purpose in January -2025. We originally booked another hotel before arrival. But, when landed and coming out of the airport, there came a person promising an affordable prepaid taxi. So we booked, but when we moved just a few meters, he started telling us that our original booked hotel is very far, so he would take us to another excellent hotel, at the end we ended up here and charged 1000 rupees for 2 to 3kms distance. It's where even its name was not disclosed for a while. Here, before even telling the price, they took us to show the rooms though we asked. Since, it was cold we were forced to stay by ourselves. They have an attached restaurant which is another adventurous to eat half cooked or not properly cooked food (sometimes) at 10 star level prices with 0 star quality. Definitely, giving commission and deploying the taxi drivers at the airports other places. Overall it's the bigger scam and a great life lesson. It happened in our capital city, shame on our government officials for forming such a "capital city of scammers". I hope they are...
