Best Western La Vista Pathankot — Hotel in Punjab

I booked this little hotel online for the night of August 24, 2025. The check-in was smooth. The room looked quite cozy at first glance—until I stepped into the shower. Let’s just say the shower floor was designed more for ice skating than bathing. I ended up clinging to the tiny support rail like my life depended on it. Of course, once shampoo and shower gel got involved, I had to let go, and that’s when the real “slip & slide” began. Somehow, I survived without an injury, but a simple bath mat could save future guests from auditioning for a circus act. Dinner on the rooftop was pleasant enough—food looked great, but the lamb chops seemed to have lived a long, full life before reaching my plate. Service was okay, not memorable. Breakfast the next morning was the real comedy show. The café was supposed to open at 7:30, but nothing happened until 7:45—so much for our early start. The buffet was “limited edition,” which is a polite way of saying very limited. We practically had to file a missing persons report for eggs and sausages, and when they finally arrived, we felt like we’d won a prize. As for tea and coffee, the highlight was the single cup and mug available—so we grabbed them like treasure hunters. I was staying here for about 10 days for work. This one is perhaps the best hotel you will get in Pathankot. The rooms are comfortable and nice. And the rooftop restaurant is cosy, which plays live music once a week or so. The singer on live music days is great. Their menu is diverse, and they mostly do a good job with the different menu items. Also, the hotel is relatively small, which also makes it cosy, and I preferred it that way.

Their housekeeping and service, unfortunately, is not up there. The housekeeping in lax - not cleaning the glasses everyday or providing water bottles. My room floor was dirty when I checked in. It got cleaned only after a couple of days despite putting in a request on the first day itself. Also my bedding were already used when i checked in. There were hair on the pillows and stains on the bedsheet - i had to get it all changed.

For the restaurant, they had days. Mostly the staff and chef were good. But one day my order took half an hour to be served and our table server was no where to be seen. We weren’t even served water. Plus when the food arrived, it wasn’t what we had ordered.

Mostly, there was a lack of consistency in service. They could do better with having more trained staff. Specially from the ones giving the orders. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all modern amenities. The ambience was pleasant, and the hotel’s location is very convenient for both business and leisure travelers.
