I had a very disappointing experience at Hotel Jewel, Pathankot. We arrived late at night after our Kashmir trip and struggled to find a hotel near the railway station. After finding this hotel online, I called them for an inquiry, but the person on the other end was extremely rude and unhelpful. As first-time visitors to Pathankot, we expected some guidance, but instead, we were met with arrogance and dismissive responses.
When we finally reached the hotel, the receptionist—who seemed to be the same rude person from the call—had the same unprofessional attitude. He charged ₹1850 for a so-called "Super Deluxe" room, which turned out to be very small and lacked basic amenities. There was no telephone for room service, and the geyser took ages to provide hot water.
To make things worse, there was no staff available for luggage assistance. We had to carry all our bags ourselves, both at check-in and check-out. The hotel operates on a self-service basis, which is unacceptable at this price point. The owner was present when we were leaving but did not even bother to ask about our stay or offer a basic farewell greeting. The lack of hospitality and customer service was shocking.
If you are traveling to Pathankot, I strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. The staff is unprofessional, the rooms are overpriced, and the service is nonexistent. The owner seriously needs to learn how to treat guests, especially those new to the city. Avoid this place and look for better options.
If you are looking for a better stay near Pathankot Railway Station, I highly recommend Hotel Green instead. Their staff is polite, helpful, and professional, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience from inquiry to check-out. Unlike Hotel Jewel, they truly understand how to treat guests with respect and hospitality.

Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel and had a very disappointing experience.
The electricity kept going off, and every time it did, the AC would shut down completely.
The soaps provided were clearly used and just repackaged — it was very obvious.
Towels were dirty and smelled bad.
They even provided cheap ₹5 soaps that looked unhygienic and previously used.
Looking at the condition of these items, I can only imagine how old and unclean the blankets must have been.
This kind of hygiene and service is completely unacceptable. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves...
