HOTEL VINTAGE — Hotel in Punjab

A hotel which could have possibly done more but unfortunately with front office managers like Lokender Chauhan, I do not see this hotel as my preferred choice any more. I had been staying in this hotel during my last 06 trips to Chandigarh, but the careless and casual attitude of one person like Chauhan makes the stay pathetic. ||||The cause of this discomfort and knocking off this hotel off my list was on account of a delay of my taxi driver, for which I had requested 15 mins of extra time in the room, which usually the 5 star properties allow, however, staff like Chauhan think that the hotel belong to them and I was advised to check-out by 11 for sure in the most rude and un-professional manner. This feedback should be read as a feedback to the owners or promotors who have invested and may not have time to check on the attitude of the staff. ||||While I would have recommended this hotel otherwise, I strongly urge the management to kindly keep in check the attitude of staff who are damaging not only the hotel but are also responsible for wiping off the hard-work of the people who are working at this hotel to make the stay for their customers. ||||I am writing this feedback in front of Chauhan and had advised him that I am doing so. Rooms are attractive, like any Chinese items, but They don’t even have the basics right. For the very basic facilities, they expect the guest to request reception. Problems faced during stay..||1) A/C: In winters, if you expect the A/C to work in hearing mode just by setting the temperature from the controller in the room, you are wrong. They teach us, that it’s guests duty to inform reception. Then the reception will turn on the heating mode. Worse is not yet over. When the heating mode is on, it brings your sweat out. Coz the temperature is again not controlled from room. It’s again controlled by reception, which nobody can even anticipate. I was almost awake for the whole night, putting the A/C on & off, to control the heat.||2) Hot water: They mostly operate on a solar based hot water plant. In winters, it took over 45 minutes to get Luke-warm water for bathing purpose. Again, the hot water was available only after calling reception.||3) Room cleaning: If you expect the room cleaning will be done by them as a routine, you get a shock when you return in the night. Like I got. They say we need to inform reception if the room has to be cleaned. Else it won’t be.||4) Laundry service: Reception guy says that laundry person comes in the evening & delivers the cloths not before the next evening....
