After reading this, you don’t need to read others’ reviews—this is an honest review about all the things you need to know about Hari Bol Lodge near Jagannath Puri Temple. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:

Location: The location is perfect if you’re planning to visit the Jagannath Puri Temple multiple times. It’s extremely close to the temple, and we easily went there several times a day. This convenience added a lot to our spiritual experience.

Room Quality: The rooms are well-maintained and very clean. I appreciated the effort put into keeping them tidy and comfortable for guests. If you value cleanliness, you’ll be pleased.

Room Service: The room service is really good. The staff is efficient and quick to respond to any requests. Fresh towels, extra blankets, or cleaning needs were promptly handled without any delays.

Staff: The staff, in general, are excellent. They are polite, helpful, and always available if you need anything. This was a big plus for us during our stay.

Owner’s Attitude: This was the biggest downside of our stay. The owner’s attitude towards payment policies is not guest-friendly. They demand full payment in the early morning, and if you don’t comply, you will be repeatedly reminded, which feels very unpleasant. Despite requesting to settle the bill at the end of our stay, they refused. This constant demand for payment created a very uncomfortable atmosphere.

Payment Policy: The lack of flexibility regarding payment is the main reason my experience was not as enjoyable. The owner's insistence on early payment feels aggressive and unnecessary, especially when you’re trying to relax or visit the temple. However, his wife was much more understanding and kind. She seemed willing to adjust, which shows that not all management is inflexible.

Other Positive Aspects: The hotel is affordable and offers good value for the quality of service and proximity to the temple. It’s ideal for people visiting with family, thanks to its clean rooms and good service.

Final Thoughts: While Hari Bol Lodge has some great qualities like cleanliness, excellent staff, and a prime location, the owner's attitude toward money is disappointing. If they can improve their payment approach, it could become a truly great place to stay. Despite this, the positives still make it worth considering if you prioritize proximity to the temple and a comfortable stay.

In conclusion, if you’re visiting Puri, this lodge offers many advantages. Just be prepared for some rigid payment expectations from the owner. Overall, it was a decent 4-day stay, thanks to the supportive staff and ideal location.

I had a terrible and traumatic experience at Haribol Lodge during the Bahuda Rath Yatra in Puri. I booked a family room for 8 people after being misled by their artificially inflated Google ratings—which I now suspect are paid reviews.

They (Jaydeep) confirmed my booking for 8 adults over WhatsApp, and I paid three times the regular rate, assuming the room would accommodate my entire family including elders and a 4-month-old infant. But on the second day, they abandoned my elderly parents, claiming we had exceeded the person count due to including the baby! Who counts a 4-month-old infant as a full person for accommodation? Utterly unreasonable and inhumane!

Worse still, instead of communicating with me—the person who booked and paid—they confronted my parents, causing emotional stress and humiliation. The room condition was also extremely poor—false ceiling broken and dangerously hanging, making it unsafe for a family, especially with a baby and senior citizens.

At one point, I considered lodging a police complaint due to the owner's threatening and rude behaviour. The experience completely ruined our Rath Yatra trip.

We recently spent 4 memorable days in Puri Jagannath on a spiritual pilgrimage. Following meticulous planning that spanned over a week, we opted for the Haribol Lodge located on Grand Road. Its prime location on the main road and proximity to the revered Jagannath temple made it an ideal choice.

Our stay at Haribol was truly delightful and exceeded our expectations. The lodge exuded a warm, homely ambiance, and the staff's exceptional friendliness and courteous behavior added significantly to our comfort.
