I am not sure from where to start on the pathetic and miserable experience I had at Mosaic (a restaurant in Country Inn). We were 9 people who went in to have a buffet on a Sunday evening. I am pretty sure they have never hosted together this number of guests together as they were evidently ill prepared. When we entered there was no manager at the restaurant. We had to call in the waiters who were busy in serving multiple tables and even collecting cash and making bills. Though the buffet was a bit on expensive side for the number of dishes they were serving (one soup, one dessert, no starters). We still opted for it so that we don't have to manage the orders and can have a relatively quick dinner and since they agreed to provide for different soups. The ordeal which followed was so miserable it it is hard to believe there is any professionalism in this restaurant.
There was no menu card for the buffet and the price quoted by waiter was misleading: cost + taxes (he never mentioned about the service charge)
The restaurant was very hot. The waiter( who was also the manager, cashier) informed that they have switched off the Ac due to some problem. He switched on the A/C's but one of their powerful A/C's was directly blowing on my face as its swing was broken.
After soup we proceeded to the main course, as there were no starters. I was horrified to see that one gravy( which was the only one good in taste) was over even before all of us took the first serving, we informed the waiter and proceeded to the table. We had already ordered for breads, which were supposed to be served at the table, continuing their lackadaisical service the waiters took more than 10 minutes to get just 4-5 breads among the 9 of us.
The gravies were all cold, not even 5 degree C. When I let the waiter know he said the hot plates are at the maximum possible. I was surprised to see the response but thought that maybe because of the waiting time and the A/C on my face the gravy has turned cold.
We proceeded to our second serving. Shockingly the gravy was still not there. I took the other gravy to see if it was really cold, and guess what it was. Their heating was system is pathetic. I protested to the waiters about the empty chafer and cold gravy. This is when he sent someone to prepare it
I called in the manager to talk. He disgracefully showed after a huge time. The ill-mannered and arrogant manager Chandan was foolishly defending all the lapses in their service. Probably he never has seen a good quality service or has become too comfortable about his position. I even made him touch their gravies to see how cold they were, to which even he agreed, but was helpless as they were using the best quality plates at the maximum temperature. To him waiting in a buffet for 5-10 minutes for gravies and bread (which actually turned out to be 15-20 minutes) was not a big deal. He even defended their pathetic service on grounds that the price of buffet is very low. and the service I am expecting (enough food, hot gravy, timely bread) would cost more than twice the price. There were no Snr. managers present as it was a Sunday evening and was compelled to talk to an arrogant fool. Surprised at the arrogance of their stupid and ill cultured manager defending their pathetic service. and my helplessness in talking to a sensible person I did not even feel like completing my dinner and had to return home hungry.
I wrote a complaint asking the Seniors to at-least acknowledge my complaint by at least a phone call. But even after 2 days there is still no response. Probably even the Snr staff is the same. The ill managed restaurant should be closed at the earliest to preserve the brand image of Country Inn, or prevent a force shut down for providing misleading information...
Read moreBelow Average Experience at Country Inn Kota
I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Country Inn in Kota, and I must say that my experience left much to be desired. While the hotel had some redeeming qualities, there were several notable shortcomings that I feel compelled to address in this review.
Room Quality (2/5): The room I stayed in was quite mediocre. The most disappointing aspect was that if you wanted a king-size bed, you were required to pay extra. This felt like an unnecessary expense for a basic comfort that many other hotels provide as a standard feature. The overall room decor and amenities were average at best, with nothing particularly noteworthy to mention.
Dinner Package (1/5): The dinner package offered by the hotel was nothing short of disappointing. The food quality was subpar, and the variety of dishes was severely limited. I was left craving for more options and better flavors. To make matters worse, the dessert served was almost inedible, and it left a lot to be desired in terms of taste and presentation.
Breakfast (2/5): The breakfast experience was slightly better than dinner but still had room for improvement. While there were more options available, the quality of the food was only marginally better. It lacked the freshness and flavor one would expect from a hotel's breakfast spread. A more extensive and well-prepared breakfast menu could greatly enhance the overall guest experience.
Room Service (2/5): The room service at Country Inn Kota was average at best. While the staff was polite and responsive, the efficiency and promptness of service left something to be desired. To add to the woes, the air conditioning in my room stopped working during the night, making my stay quite uncomfortable.
Overall Rating (2/5): In summary, my stay at Country Inn Kota was below average. The subpar room quality, disappointing dinner package, and lackluster breakfast experience were significant drawbacks. While the staff was courteous, their efforts alone could not compensate for the overall lack of quality in various aspects of my stay. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes necessary improvements to enhance the guest experience...
Read moreChecked in on 1st October and checked out the next day.
What was supposed to be a peaceful resting stop turned into a nightmare.
We were travelling from Omkareshwar to Gurgaon and booked this hotel, to stay for the night. They had the best reviews and we had previously stayed at other Radisson properties.
We did not eat and order anything from the outside, thinking we needed to travel ~500 kms the next day, and better eat clean. We ordered Hyderabadi biryani and butter chicken for dinner and had no idea what was coming.
I had butter chicken but had to leave it mid-way because I felt a bit weird. My friend also left the biryani mid-way stating the same thing. In an hour, around 10 pm, I was throwing up and had severe diarrhoea meanwhile my friend had stomach cramps. I kept on going to the restroom from 10 pm till 3 am, dehydrated puking my guts out.
We called reception and requested an ambulance around 3.30 am, and was told it would take 20-30 mins, which was way too long considering how sick I was; we took our car to the hospital, and I was put on an IV. 4 hours later, 5K INR down and extremely dehydrated, we returned to the hotel.
The staff was apologetic and the food manager called us personally, apologized and asked us if we needed anything specific for our travel, to which we just requested some juice.
After all this, at checkout, we were asked to pay for the food which ensued all the horrendous ordeal. 1.5K is not a big amount but the least they could have done was waive this off since the whole hotel knew what we went through.
Restroom had no floor towel and hand towel. There was a dirty tissue on the floor.
One of the drawers had a black trash bag with rotting food inside, pretty sure a guest put it there but it should not have been there.
My review for this hotel would be 1/5 for...
