We were three families and we stayed in the last week of Dec. The property is small and has a homely feel to it. It has a history attached to it and it's evident across the hotel. Rooms are big (we stayed on first floor), everything is clean and nice. The bed itself was big and comfortable. Minor issue was the loud train honking in the night and a family with two kids playing some kind of games outside our room at 11:30 in the night distubed our sleep. The latter is luck and can't be blamed on the hotel though.||Since it's a small property, the resources are limited. The guy who carries your luggage, also serves as a server at the restaurant, for example. There was a decent waiting period at the restaurant, despite the fact that we were the only people there. Having said that, we had ordered a variety of food and that too in some quantity. The taste and quality of food itself was pretty good.||People overall were nice. The two elderly (probably) owners were very amicable. Our children were tempted to pluck the only two oranges on their plant and we were not letting them. One of the uncles walked up and told the kids to pluck. They even guided us with the route to the nearby Bhandasar temple. ||The gentleman at the front-desk, possibly the son of the onwer was overall nice, however, there was a minor incident which I wish he avoided. In the morning, our families were having breakfast at their restaurant, Aplenty food was ordered. The three of us men went to Chotu Motu Joshi to try their poori-sabzi and on the way back brought three kachoris for the ladies. And we offered them those at the open-air seating area of the restaurant. The man walked up to me and told, "Sir, outside food is not allowed here." I immediately apologised. It's all good so far. However, he repeated the same line with slightly more firmness. This wasn't needed really. We spent 7.5K on food there and didn't have to be lectured on three outside kachoris. Left a tiny bit of bad taste in mouth.||Overall a very pleasant non-hotel kind of stay and a property highly...
Read moreHotel Jaswant Bhawan in Bikaner, Placed next to railway station is run by family which houses about 17 odd rooms, of which 4 seems to be in old structure and rest are in adjusant extention.
We stayed in room no 2 , which seems very small under renovation as two of bed side hangings were not installed wires were hanging instade. TV channels not working upon complaint with front desk the answer was given that the service is disrupted from cable guy.( Front desk lad did not even sent anyone to check as if it's ok the guest does not get what is on offer )
AC connection was off when enquired he said Thandi hai ? Why one need when it's so cold outside. He totally was ammused when I said I can keep the temperature at 25 celcius which is better than out side 14 to 16 degrees. ( Then he started the supply).
Bathroom is big has glass partition & a cupboard & wash basin.
What's our take,
Room Neatly maintained but request to avoid 1 to 4 room nos as the courtyard which it overlooks is not as neat as the other courtyard in extended area. ( by pictures you will notice ).
In Room Facilities: Coffee /Tea Maker,
Bathroom: They Provide Hand Towel & Bath Towels, with 1 Sope
Service : No room service , expect for Tea / Coffee
Wifi : worst
Concern by management: Very Poor & least concerned.
Parking on site : can park about 6 to 7 cars and few two wheelers.
Cleanliness: Reasonably Good
Will I recommend: Ofcourse Noooooooot. And if someone wants to book avoid the old courtyard side.( It's my personal opinion). check with Similarly priced hotels in Bikaner.
Hope management pay heed to improving on service & work towards guests comfort.

Read moreThis place would have scored a 4 star if not for it's dining experience. Please read on.
This hotel has two sections. I stayed in the newly built one. Spacious rooms. New fittings. Hot water supply was a problem which was attended to. There was a power outage with zero power backup one morning (I stayed for 3 nights), which meant my equipment wasn't charged. Comfortable beds. Quiet even though there is a railway station almost right next to it. Literally walk from the station to this hotel.
Ample parking and a tiny garden inside the hotel. Family run with great aesthetics.
So now let me come to the restaurant. Not worth paying for the breakfast options. This place is not best suited for individual travelers or small groups. We saw large tourist groups (10-12 folks). This place has the hangover of a colonial era, with preference for non-Indian tourists. And a huge indifference for Indian travellers.
Would recommend for family travel. But please don't expect anything in terms of a warm Indian hospitality (though one of their attendants, support staff is a welcome exception).
And a...
