I would rate Arthur's Inn 4.5 out of 5. We had a very nice and wonderful stay here. Listing below my experience staying in the homestay. Very warm and welcoming host, tries to accommodate guests needs as much possible. They were waiting for us near their home and welcomed us as soon as we got down from the cab, also helped with the luggage to carry till home. The homestay is surrounded with lots of plants, there is a small open walking space as well, where guests can unwind after the days travel. My baby used this space as her playground during our stay. Rooms are spacious with good ventilation. Kitchen is not attached to the homestay. Its' Inside the owners home. If guest wants to cook anything in odd hours, it may become inconvenient for both owner and guest. We didn't have to use the kitchen except boiling milk for kid sometimes, so we didn't face any issue. Bathrooms are bit old but functional, nothing to complaint about. It was a little weird for us when only a soap was provided as part of toiletry. There were no handwash\tissue paper provided. We bought our own after reaching there. Owner provides only the garbage bin, no plastic cover alongwith it as Sikkim is a plastic neutral state. So for those who may need to use plastic cover, like me, for disposing of baby diapers, or wet wipes, should carry their own or buy standard bin bags after reaching the homestay from nearby shops. Guests need to climb up stairs with 30+ steps to reach the homestay. This is the only negative I felt throughout our stay as carrying the baby sometimes up that much becomes tiresome, specially after day long trip to multiple tourist attractions. However when my baby was willing to walk up or down the stairs by herself without carrying, then it was fine. Afterall, its' a hilly area. The food was so yummy, I can't elaborate. We booked our package including breakfast, but ended up having dinner as well for the entire duration. Thank you Asha for the delicious food. Your food was one factor which made our stay feel like home. Location of the homestay is another plus point, as its' conveniently located to almost all the tourist attractions. We booked our cab service for the entire duration through Arthur. From the pickup to dropping off at the Bagdogra airport was a smooth journey for us. Initially we were a bit skeptical about the long distance car travel in the hilly terrain, as we were with baby. However all went very well, thank you Mika (aka Manoj Biswakarma) and Paul. My daughter felt so welcomed by the host and family that she actually made a song for them here in Bengaluru, which goes like, 'Sriju akka, Sriju akka where are you, I am missing you so much, lalalalala'. She, alongwith all of us, thoroughly enjoyed the trip. A big THANK YOU to Arthur\Asha\Sriju. If we plan to visit Sikkim again, will definitely...

Read moreFor someone like me, who prefers a homestay instead of a hotel, this is a wonderful place in Gangtok. Excellent property with a small garden around the home. Conveniently located very close to MG Marg (city and market place). Extremely welcoming hosts with some fantastic food and masala chai. Spending time with Arthur over a cup of chai brings loads of information about Sikkim’s legacy and the culture. He also provides guidance on how to organize our itinerary and understand he can help in arranging the transport as well. Will definitely stay in this place whenever I visit Gangtok in future and more importantly, will spend more time with Arthur to understand further about Sikkim. Thank you Arthur and family for making our stay an extremely...
