We have stayed in Dikling , Pelling from 2nd Jan to 4th Jan 2022 with 2 rooms and my overall experience is worst. Reasons are given below Location: First of all the hotel is situated at the starting point of upper Pelling from where Helipad ground is 2 /2.5 km away and Skywalk is 5 km away. At the time of booking it was told by the owner Mr.Joydeb Bose that we can enjoy Mt.Kanchenjungha from balcony all the day. But in practical we found that three hotels are there in front of balcony on the other side of the road and a slice of Mt. Kanchenjungha can be hardly seen through the gap between two hotels. Only Kanchenjungha can be clearly seen from the roof of the hotel which is 6th floor or from the left side road . 2.Price : Price is higher as at a lower price one can stay in a proper view room in the opposite 2/3 hotels. Or at same price one can stay near New Helipad ground which offers most clear view of Mt.Kanchenjungha. Maintenance: Though the rooms are spacious but not properly maintained. We have two rooms and electrical issues were there in both the rooms. On repeated request to the Manager and after that direct calling to owner Mr. Bose the electrical issues were fixed up at night. From the electrician we came to know that many more works need to be done in the hotel immediately to fix up the issues. Service & House keeping: Worst house keeping I have ever seen in any hotel as not a single cleaning of both the room as well as bath room has been done in our 3 days stay. Even dustbins were not been emptied not a single time. Also neither intercom facility is there in the hotel nor any bell system is there to contact reception or kitchen. So we have to save one of the staff's no. to contact for any need. This was a rediculous!! Best funny part is that owner Mr. Bose has told that Wifi is available but in reality it has been found that Wifi works only in ground floor and it does not cover from 1st floor and above. I have informed it to Mr. Bose but no resolution has been given and as a result we have suffered a lot as mobile network was very much poor there. Also hotel would not supply any hot water for bathroom in case of power cut. We have been given 2 busket of hot water from other vacant room's geyser storage in the 2nd day morning (when there was no power for 3 hrs) after shouting on hotel staff for hot water. For that we have been 2 hrs late for sightseeing. Actually we think that the manager does not know how to give proper service in a good manner to the guests. Look & Feel : Reception , dinning hall, low power light in the stair case and lobby and above all the Manager's body language will not provide a feel good factor after entering the hotel. All these factors have set our expectations before entering the room. Process & Formalities : At the time of check in we have been asked for ID proof and vaccination certificates but finally they have not taken any documents from us. At check out manager has not given any bill for lodging and fooding. Upon asking the same he told that they don't provide any written bill to the guests which is quite surprising!! Overall my personal observation is that the manager is not suitable for the hospitality industry and the Owner does not monitor the...
Read moreRecent I along with my family had the good fortune to visit Pelling and let's just say it was a memorable one. The hotel at which we put up was in Upper Pelling, the most sought after location in this quiet and peaceful town. Hotel Dikiling. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and equiped with all necessary amenities. The bathroom was rather very big with gyesers and fine fittings. All rooms came with attached balconies that bares witness to clear and magnanimous views of the mountains and the breathtaking natural surrounding.Majestic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the view of Sun set was simply mesmerizing. All our local site seeing was arranged by the hotel staff were actually very friendly, helpful and at service at all times . The food provided was delicious and healthy. The Helipad was at walking distance. One of the biggest problems of accommodation in hills for hilly terrain is that of the lack of parking space with this hotel however one may not face such and problem as the hotel comes with its own parking area.
Such an accommodation at such a rate in a place so remote, beautiful and an international tourist hotspot is truly a deal to steal .as it is truly a magnificent experience.Would definitely like to visit this place again and recommend the same to anyone planning such a trip . This is something I believe everyone should experience at least once for themselves to truely fathom the feel of this place . Highly recommended...
