We spent a day and night at this place . The rooms are big , really spacious and well maintained . The air conditioning works well and they have kept the bathrooms squeaky clean ( I am a bit fussy about those ) each room can accommodate 3 people and they open to a lovely balcony . They also have a terrace which offers much photo taking opportunities . Now the not so pleasant experiences . I am a foodie and a hardcore Carnivore at that , my expectation was eye watering spicy non vegetarian food . I was served a watered down version which was more suited for the foreign nationals . The food was decent for lunch and Kavitha the lady in charge took care of all guests . She promised me that they will serve me an authentic Chettinadu Chicken Curry for dinner. Dinner was a bit of a downer as they completely forgot about my request and served us some non palatable vegetable gravy and Idiyappams.    Read moreI warn anyone planning to book their stay there. My experience was the worse. 1 star as I cannot write my review without it.
I booked via makemytrip website.
We reached the property around 6.15 pm, we find its an average hotel, we check in, the nightmare begins.
Rooms are filthy. No basic cleanliness. Lots of mosquitos. Bedspreads and pillow covers were dirty. Looked used with human hair and all. When asked, they did change it for us.
There is an in-house Telephone but no connection.
After you are settled in, all people leave. Lock the building and leave. There is literally no help if needed.
Property is in a remote location. No restaurants around. And their restaurant was also closed. Reason was there were no other guests in the entire property.
Couples, families, people with small children, elderly people... Please refrain from booking this so...
Read moreIt's not a Heritage house. Rather a new construction with an outward heritage facade. Poorly designed rooms with the AC blowing on your face. A restaurant in the Ground floor and rooms on the 1st floor. Almost all staff go back in the evening and only the Watchman remains after 9pm. Basic Vegetarian breakfast. Provided only after 8.30 am. Not much food options available in the town and you need to eat in. Dinner needs to be ordered ahead. You need to prepare ahead if you need anything in the evening.
It's ok to stay.
However, considering the Price charged by the real authentic heritage houses here and the quality of rooms, food and services...... what we pay to Narayana vilas appears exhorbitant. It's nothing but a basic lodge, pretending...
