Visalam – CGH Earth hotel, Chettinad — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

We had a great experience in Visalam. We stayed in Visalam as part of our Rameshwaram Chettinad trip. Hospitality is good and the location is also good. its near to many Chettinad mansions. Food was really tasty and we literally enjoyed it. Restaurant staff was very good and they explained each and every item they served us. We had breakfast and dinner part of our package. Swimming pool is another advantage here. I want to inform, if you book via MMT, pls don’t book the package which is showing in the website as part of the booking. Bullock Cart Ride and In Room Refreshments- Fruit Basket are the only inclusion in the package. we didn’t get the In Room Refreshments- Fruit Basket. also, for Bullock Cart Ride, it was planned for second day morning, but the staff told the Bullock Cart driver not feeling well. so they postponed to next day morning. There was no communication after that. While check out I enquired about this. then they told, the bull is not feeling well and in hospital , so they couldn’t arrange. After return, I raised this with MMT and MMT told they got an information from the hotel that the bull died , so they couldn’t arrange, I feel this could have been better communicated to us in advance by the hotel staff and arrange any thing else to compensate this because we paid for this. so, my suggestion is , don’t opt for the package and once you reach there depends on your interest and availability decide on the extra items like bullock cart ride etc. Apart from the above, we didn’t had any issues and overall we had...

Additionally, the staff's preferential treatment towards foreign guests was evident, particularly during a morning cycling activity where the guide failed to accommodate my participation in favor of pleasing the foreign participants.||An interaction with a staff member also left a negative impression. When I expressed interest in dining at a local restaurant called Bangala, the staff abruptly discouraged me, criticizing the establishment's food quality without justification. Such unsolicited advice was both unprofessional and unwarranted.||The cost of accommodation is steep, with a nightly rate of 10,000 INR and an exorbitant fee of 3,100 INR for an additional adult guest. Four-star international hotels abroad, would typically offer more comprehensive amenities and services for the rate of an extra adult this property charges. ||On a positive note, the property does boast a well-maintained pool and spacious rooms. You will be transported back to the chettinad era when you stay at the Visalam. ||I have been here numerous times in the past with my family and friends and this is one place where you will truly find peace and an absolute atmosphere of a rural village that a city dweller can crave for. ||The Visalam will not have TV's in your rooms. It will not cater to you if you are looking for a St.Regis or a Four Seasons. ||Visalam is a place where you spend time reading a book. Strolling in the garden and watching the monkeys play during the day. ||It's a place where you can cycle through the small streets of the village in the early morning and experience the rural countryside. ||It's a place where you can experience local tradition cuisine at its best. ||You can enjoy the warm weather and enjoy the dip in the swimming pool by the evenings. ||This place will transport you back in time. ||The staff in Visalam are the sweetest you can ever encounter.
