Fortune Retreats — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

This is our Feedback about the Fortune Retreats Properties Ooty.

We stayed in this property with our Family 2Adults and 2 Kids (10yr/7yr) for 2 Days- 17- 19 May 2023.

We have found the property and provided facilities to be ok, support was also ok from the Staff and Reception. Room and toilets were clean and neat. Provided basic amenities for the needs. Provided Extra bed and Blanket. The property is situated in a nice Scenic area, but we found it difficult to access if you need to go out, not that easy. The Internet speed may be in kbps!! or less are we still in 2023?, I think as the 3 Airtel Connections we have was very weak, at-least a good Internet could have helped, but no choice. The Room Charges was not justifiable for the facilities, services or size of the room.

We faced 3 issues which needs the Management Attention.

When we called for hot water the response was very usual and support was not immediate, we waited for 10-15mins as staff informed and meanwhile 2young kids took bath with minimal /coldish water, which was not acceptable and I have to call 2nd time and inform them for support, that is when they informed us that the Water Heater for the villas or units where off, when it should be on 24/7 for anyone to have bath anytime with hot water when temperature is 16-18Deg. Celcius outside. We found the Water temperature just warm, not to the level what we really use when it is pretty cold.

As property given to us is almost 500+ mtrs far from Reception and Restaurant and it was too steep climb (Orange Villa), we found it difficult to walk or to reach the reception even for breakfast, it will be very difficult for any elders without a car to reach the reception. If we order food from Villa, we have to pay 10% additional for sending this food to the Guests, we have found this unreasonable for a service provider.

The Major issue we faced is about Restaurant Food, we took Chicken curry, Chicken 65, Chappathi on 18th Night for Dinner, thinking that the food will be good and trust worthy, All of us had issues on 19th Early morning from 2am, My younger kid 7 years started to have stomach pain and loose motion, My son who is 10 years, was continuously having loose motion and vomiting more than 6 times, Wife also faced issues with loose motion, we were really worried and informed the Reception and response was very casual, they also took the same curry and none had issues. We have only taken this food from outside during last 12hrs of the issue, and we are sure this dinner caused the Issues. We have scheduled for Munnar on 19th and while on Road as my son was very sick we have to go to a Clinic and Meet Dr. Near Mettupalam and get the Antibiotics taken, as son was having bad stomach pain and even my Wife has to take antibiotics. Our rest of the trip for 2 days has to be cancelled with all bookings for Hotel and Travel planned. This gives us a very Bad Feeling in our mind for your property, especially for the Food/Restaurant services from your side. We expect you to have this checked out properly and do the needful, even though it will not improve our experience in anyways. Until such issues sorted out, we do not recommend anyone for this property due to health issues mainly from Restaurant side. My Son and Wife has to take Antibiotics for the stomach pain, loose motion and issues which was lasting for 2 days.

It was nothing like what is shown in make my trip nor Google reviews. We paid 6k for each deluxe room so totally almost 12k with taxes as we booked deluxe villa with 2 rooms for a night. First thing is on our way to the hotel there was a sign board in the middle of the road which made us think it's on the left side of the road so we took that road and got lost. The sign board should be on the right side leading using properly to the hotel. As there was terrible traffic we reached very late by 8.30pm albeit the check in time was 12pm, we thought we will reach the hotel and have coffee or tea but they said they can't provide coffee or tea and told we have to order within half an hour for dinner or else we won't be able to order after 9.30pm. We ordered by 9 and the food came by 10pm. The taste was so so but the reviews were great.The food given to the driver was horrible as they served him stale food. Coming to the room, no one would say that's a deluxe room. We booked this as the view was great but there were only 4 walls. The room deserved only 1k per night. It was very small and not that hygienic. Moreover there was no hot water when we reached and we had to use freezing cold water in that cold weather. We had a kid and elderly people as well.The person to check the hot water came after we slept so we asked them to check in the morning. We asked for extra coffee powder in the room and they weren't ready to give that also. Overall it was worst experience for us. We wanted to relax with our family after a long day of traffic and really regret booking this stay here in fortune retreats. Total utter waste. Never ever gonna book here or recommend...

• Prompt response from Fortune Travel Proprietor- Mr Manoj until the money was fully paid. After that only voice messages and that too for selected queries. • The supposedly 4 star hotel booked for us had shabby rooms, blocked bathrooms & wash basins, very poor house keeping with cobwebs, dirty floor tiles, no change of bath towels or bed sheets, no face towel, no toiletries etc- equivalent to a 3 star hotel set up in the suburbs of India. • Dubai City tour was conducted by the cab driver without a guide. Cab driver asked us to say that we are on a transit tour of city if police asks because as per rules for a tour package there should have been a guide with us. • 5th day – last day- we were booked to Air India express. It was a budget flight with no served food. Unfortunately we were not aware of the fact and we were not informed of the fact by the Fortune Retreats. Mother aged 79 was a diabetic and had to take medicines after food. We had to purchase from the flight. ------- Considering the huge package amount taken by Fortune Retreats as compared to other travels and the fact that we were their only customers for the trip they should have given us decent accommodation, flight and a devoted cab with a guide. But unfortunately, they made convenient cuts on all these and more for their own gain-. They would have cut down on Dubai Frame as well but for our insistent calls. Our precious four hours were simply wasted at Ferrari World because they didnt provide us with the ticket though it was in the itinery nor did they give us an alternative.
