Read moreI was going to give this place 1 or 2 stars at the most, but then I up-rated for their response to my complaints. I would like to narrate my stay over there. As i arrived late at night (my room was pre-booked and pre-paid for the entire duration of the stay) the room service personnel were fewer in number and for that night i was given one water bottle. The service person quickly left the room politely saying 'good night sir'. As after the long journey i was tired and went to sleep straight away.
Next morning when i woke up i was amazed to know that there were no bathroom amenities available, not even a towel. I had to run in the morning and this used my own stuff to get ready (I am always prepared for such things) while leaving i put in a word that the bathroom amenities needed to be placed in the room and left.
When i came back i was shocked to know that my room was not cleaned and the bathroom was the same way i left it. I forgot to tell you that the flush tank was full of mud and no matter how many times i flushed it was always mud coming out of the tank. It was then when i realised that these rooms are probably never booked/used and the service personnel forget that they have to work over there as well.
That night i put in a word again to the front desk but i did not receive a polite reply. For dinner as i was late the restaurant closed and the person on the counter told me that he would send the food to my room. I asked him to send a bottle of water as well as there is no room service at all, no room cleaning and no amenities.
It was then when the restaurant guy put in a word to the front desk and then everything fell into place, my room was cleaned, water and all the amenities were made available.
Pros The rooms are spacious, luxurious The area is good The food is awesome
Cons No proper room service Not very friendly front desk/reception
Update The hotel management spoke to me and apologized. I was told that room cleaning is done only when asked due to some issues. Thank you for contacting me and hope all the future guests will have a good time...
Read moreThe hotel is location wise superb. The rooms are reasonably neat, spacious and priced comfortably.
The pathetic experience started once we visited this so called "Seafood Restaurant".
The ambience of the restaurant is nice. The pathetic experience started off once we ordered the soup and starters. The seafood platter came in 25 mins.
The soup came in 1 hr later, that too for 2 people out of the 4 soups ordered. The hot and sour was such a pathetic soup. Lacked the taste and the texture of a basic soup. The sauces, tomato, chilly and the mayonnaise was pathetic..
This so called hot and sour soup was reddish in color than the thick brown and spicy one. They could have atleast bought a few packs of Hot and sour Knorr soup and boiled it and served. Would have tasted much better.
The fiasco came in as we ordered the pulkas.. The aata and the aata powder was still intact even after cooking it.. basically it was half cooked and dusty. I will have to wait for the next day to check on the consequences 😜
To top it all I had ordered sweet lime soda... A very basic drink, even my daughter, at home would have done a fabulous job of this.
This fresh lime soda lacked sugar, lacked salt, lacked soda flavor and to top it all, it was room temperature. Not cold.
Asked the waiter for some ice cubes.. waited for 25 mins. Finally we asked for the bill. Even that we had to walk to the billing counter to settle it.
Overall a pathetic experience.
You may stay in the church view suites, but please do not dare to visit the restaurant.
You may lose your temper, you may lose your cool with the staff, thereby rubbing off the effect with your family members.
The holiday weekend visit to this holy place, after a visit to this pathetic restaurant would leave you all fumed and frustrated.
Hence my sincere request is, to please avoid this place in any of your visits to Vellankanni, if you want peace and...
