Chandra Hotel is the worst hotel in Velankanni. On 17th May 2025 I bought one chicken biryani, two parotas and one chicken masala curry from here and the bill was Rs 410. If you eat in a good hotel in Kerala, chicken biryani costs Rs 150, one parota costs Rs 10, two parotas costs Rs 20. One chicken curry costs Rs 100. The total cost is Rs 270. Chandra Hotel was priced at Rs 410, why did you buy so much? Buy parotas from Chandra Hotel and get free sambar. They are robbing the people of Kerala. No one should eat from there.

We are in vailankanni for 1 week and were told by one of our relatives to try out this restaurant as it is a very known restaurant in this holy place I would specially like to tell everyone that the ambiance is good and service is prompt Apart of that food is horrible we had ordered chicken lollypop it is small than a finger size and had also ordered prawns we were told they are small sized And parotha was well cooked and good Very dissatisfied with the food and we also called our relatives and insulted them for how flop their suggestions turned out i would never recommend this hotel to anyone having a stay in vailankanni Also the lollypop was raw and not fried well . We passed this restaurant several times on our way to the Basilica. Decided to give it a try. They offer both veg and nonveg items including grilled food. As with many of the restaurants in Vailankanni the sitting is very cramped and if even half full one has to navigate to your table carefully as if one is in a traffic jam. The ambience is dated and not very clean. Some of their items are displayed in a glass case so it's easy to decide items to order even if you don't speak the language. Ordered for Mutton masala, chicken malai kebab and coin parathas. Mutton was overcooked and almost on the point of shredding, taste was bland, kebabs were dry with average taste, coin parathas were served hot and were tasty. Don't plan to visit again. The waiters hover around your table practically asking for a tip when they present the bill, which is disconcerting.
