Hotel Rani and Rani Residency, Puducherry — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

This time I got responsibility to plan a trip to Pondicherry. Big task. I checked online selected this hotel for stay booked cab.,. All set. Then I tried to call on landline of this hotel, no one picking I was scared. What's going on :D Afterall all effort was mine. We reached Pondicherry, we reached this hotel not very far from central very near to beach. When we reached there and the warm welcome which we received like they were waiting for us. Smiling faces, polite nature. I informed them about their landline number they felt sorry and confirmed it's not working and it's under process.

Thanks Vicky and Thiru, for your friendly nature, didn't felt we went there for first time. All supports you will get from them two wheelers, cab and suggestions on trip.

Coming to room - spacious, clean room, comfortable beds, house keeping service on call,

Food mount restaurant- Restaurant is on 4 th floor. Not included in stay package but they give room delivery. Food was really great, homely feel you will get. Only thing order get delayed all time. Might be because of pressure, try to speed up your service.

How far from tourist points- When you are at tourist place things will be little far. No points will be next to your door. From this hotel Serenity beach is very near. Cleanest beach I found in Pondicherry, one can enjoy sunrise at 5:30 am. Scenic view. Other points are within the range of 1-2 km. One extra tip - if you going to Pondicherry don't miss Paradise beach and Serenity beach.

Good family hotel. Affordable price but it is a bit far from pondi centre like 10km. This hotel is in kottakupam, chennai. The service is really great from the service desk people, house keeping staff & restaurant staff as well. Three things which we have observed - 1) The rooms were not properly cleaned when we checked in & the washroom was average but okay-okay for the price we have paid. 2) The AC doesn't run properly - sometimes it takes time to switch on , other times the hotel folks turn the AC switch off whenever we step out for the day & we used to tell them to switch on once we were back at the end of the day. 3) Geyser runs on solar so you need to dump 2 buckets of water to get some hot water , maybe hotel folks can look into this issue. Other than this we didn't have any issues, all our calls were answered on time & service was really good as well. Restaurant food is really good & staff is helpful. Hotel is located at a convenient and peaceful location with 1km from serenity beach, and 10kms approx from auroville. It's easy to catch a glimpse of sunrise early morning, which is highly recommended. Though located outside city, Public transportation available to the city and it takes 10 mins Max. (Don't use autos to get to hotel from main bus or railway station, they charge 400-500rs telling it's outside border, though it's just 6kms. Better to catch a bus going to Chennai or pims to reach here. Ask the bus people whether it goes to kottakuppam.)

Coming to hotel, it's okay for few days stay. Rooms are clean, however ac was not cooling much. There is enough parking space. Free wifi is a scam and will not get connected. Rental vehicles service is not proper, which they never deliver in time. No kettle/complimentary tea/coffee provided. They charge extra for early check-in or late check-out. The restuarant food , particularly sea food,though bit expensive, is completely worth for the price paid....
