As the summer winds gently passing by, the rhythmic sweet sound created by the ocean waves welcomed our family to the resort. It was the second time we decided to enjoy the hospitality of Ideal Beach Resort. The ever smiling and helpful staff as usual welcomed us and took us to the rooms allotted. We were right on time to have lunch. The restaurant was not that crowded and we had comfortable seats. As a typical south Indian we were looking for some meal with rice, sambar and curries. We were little disappointed. However, we ended up having good meal. Definitely a word about the Buggy service should form part of our review. Amazing they are. Very helpful and report within a few minutes of call. When we look at this, probably we felt that the restaurant services could be bettered.
We planned for settling down on the shores of beach in the evening and we were dropped very close to the shores. Excellent view and to match that we had hot bajjies and coffee. Till 7 pm we the photo session, gazing at the never ending waves, we got to our rooms by 8 pm. Again the dinner part - we managed chappatis, curries, then to bed.
Here we felt that the resort could have arranged for some small get together - singing, dancing etc on the lawns. Well, you must be having a different ideas. The bed is comfortable but not friendly. We could have had slightly strong beds instead of cushioned. We sink in that and to get out of the height is another task by itself
Next day the day started waiting for coffee. Well again I cannot control commenting upon this aspect. By the time the coffee reached us, the sun losing its patience risen on the east without waiting for us come and enjoy.
The bathrooms are elegantly designed and lavishly spent on. Excellent water and the bath facilities are of very high standards. The designer took lot of pains to ensure the commode for children is accommodated. But as a suggestion, the management should start thinking about senior citizens. The commodes are of low height and to get up from the seat is a herculean task. I felt that I would definitely fall down or call someone to help me to rise out of the seat.
The breakfast - I think i should not comment much about it. The quality and the spread - less said about it better. Especially, for the breakfast, the people would like to have hot menu. Unfortunately the pongal, rava upma, pooris - all were cold. The chutney (coconut) has become stale by the time it is served. The management should conduct an introspection on this aspect of the resort.
we stayed for two days just to unwind ourselves. What a place to stay. Just amazing atmosphere - lush green lawn just opposite to the room. pollution free air, green pastures around, far beyond never ending water body - a heaven on this earth!!
thank you very much and kudos...
Read moreI would like to share one of the worst ever experience on this Resort. We booked the resort for team outing. Upon reaching the resort we were shell shocked to see the room of size and shape. We opted to change to the room, due to the non-availability of the room we decided to continue the same room. After few minutes out of the 5 split AC,4 stopped working . In the hot summer think about the nightmare that we might have gone through in this scenario. After Multiple follow up and visit by technician, we got the answer as "the problem is due to voltage fluctuation ". Almost after 2 hours few AC was made to run accompanied by some pedestal fans.
The real problem started after this. The event management manager by the name Tony who was introduced by the management of Resort, informed that co-ordination person of team events had left by lunch and the remaining program will be on Beach. We were in a shell shock while we came to know that there won't be any more room programs. During morning, when we were briefing the event coordinator, we told her that team introduction session to be conducted after lunch, for which she agreed. Checking further with Tony , he cooked up a new story stating that only 4-hour session was agreed for which he demanded a full payment. While there was no such prior intimation for 4-hour program both in written and Oral, resort staff also failed to solve this situation and they were repeatedly kept sidelining with event management person Tony. There was unprofessional and rude behavior from Tony including abusing my senior colleagues, which made us to think that a wrong decision was made in choosing the resort.
One good thing happened is the best food and its variety they served. But this was totally doom sided by all the above-mentioned happenings. NEVER choose this resort for...
Read moreI've been to IBR twice, once almost 25 years ago when I was a kid and second in August 2023 with my 2 kids, wife and parents. The stay was comfortable, the location was great.. we could walk right to the beach in 30 seconds from our villa, food was really good as well. DO NOT MISS THE BREAKFAST BUFFET!!. Raja from the dining services department made some amazing recommendations on the best sea food preparations and got us the freshest and biggest catch of the day (massive king prawns and fishy fry). Kevin who is one of the staff who works at dining is such a warm and hospitable host, the staff in general are very soft spoken and accommodating of families especially with kids. We also caught the sun rising from the horizon early morning around 5:30 AM, absolutely fantastic view. The beaches are clean and well maintained, manned by guards during day light hours. Food and beverages served right to you on the beach. Theres a great massage spa and antiques store on premises too. Baggage and luggage services on premise with electric buggys so you don't have to haul stuff around. Overall we had a blast here and Raja and Kevins hospitality was the icing on the cake.
We also had a chance to meet with Mr. Bose, a long time friend of my father and relatives (Gunasekaran) in the family. We will be back again, thank you for hosting us in your resort. :)
