Blue poppy resort
My friends and I, a group of 7 people were booked to stay at the blue poppy resort from 7th to 9th March. We arrived at 8 pm at the resort on 7th after a 14 hour long journey from rishikesh due to road closures. It had snowed, we were hungry exhausted and tired. We had booked 1 quad occupancy hut for 3 people, and 1 room for 2. Prior to booking the hut they confirmed the pictures which looked amazing and said there were 2 washrooms and 1 bathroom. The website also mentions electric blankets for more warmth which upon asking the staff tell you, please take them at your own risk, if there is a short circuit we are not responsible. All this quickly turned into a nightmare when I walked into the hut- the door had a see through glass on it without a curtain, Curtain holders were broken, bathroom taps were broken. Bugs in the toilet, after going through all this from hectic traveling to checking in, we were willing to adjust for just about anything . We froze to death and couldn’t sleep cz the heaters weren’t durable enough. We literally wore all the clothes we had and still couldn’t be warm enough. I am from New Jersey and I know how effective a heater should be. Lay but not the least- when we finally got ourselves to get into bed, upon opening the blankets we found the bedsheet covered in stains and unwashed with hair ,yes you heard me-HAIR on the bed. The blankets to the bedsheets were all unwashed filthy and covered in hair which was so pathetic, and that’s when I decided I’m not settling anymore. We paid 11500 rs for one night for this ?! Next day we were supposed to move to another hut as we had booked 2 huts for 8 n 9. After talking to the manager he said l am sorry there were a lot of people who checked in so had to give your hut to someone else. This resort is not at all of what they say- expect the food and view. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF the manager himself said “Saab yaha har week aisa hota hai refund ke liye boltey hai” yes they did give us a refund at check out after fighting for a generous time, I was on the verge of calling my lawyer but they did settle for a 50% back for only the 11500 we paid. Do NOT STAY HERE ID RECOMMEND ANYTHING BUT THIS. I’d not rant about if I did not have a proof of this horrible stay. Plz...
Read moreThe place is picturesque and very well placed with great views especially of Nanda Devi peak, albeit the weather being favourable. We were fortunate to catch a glimpse of it for a few minutes. Otherwise too, the views from here are splendid.
The cottages in Blue Poppy are very comfortable, clean and cosy. The staff is very efficient, helpful and always at hand if need be. The food too is good & tasty. The resort is also very close to the cable car station which takes one to the Cliff Top view at Auli. The majestic view from here is not to be missed. For me personally, stay at Blue Poppy was very comfortable and relaxing as everything was taken care of by the staff and the management which included stay at different places as well as the trek to the Valley of flowers and Hemkunt Sahab, hence a peaceful holiday.
The Blue Poppy Resort in Auli is a perfect place for nature lovers in a natural retreat. For flora and fauna lovers, there is ample of greenery all around to charm. And even for bird lovers like me, one can find a varied variety of birds fluttering all around the cottages.
Blue Poppy Resorts with their experience and expertise in managing the whole tour along with guides makes the whole trip wholesome, wonderful and comfortable. And believe me, this factual first hand review from the mouth of an armed forces family member matters a lot as we could have stayed at any of the army messes anywhere.
Moreover, the staff was always directly in touch to know our whereabouts showing their personal concerns regarding our comfort and safety. The guides too provided by Blue Poppy especially Mr Dinesh and Mr Lokesh gave personal attention to one and all especially the elderly all the way right from the beginning to the end. The cab provided to us by them and driven by Mr Gauri Shankar was great. Besides being a good and safe driver, Mr Gauri Shankar is very respectfull and cultured who also acted as a guide all the way.
They arranged the whole trip including stays and treks to both the Valley of flowers and Hemkunt Sahab. Thank you Blue Poppy staff and especially Mr Dev Kant for a wonderful holiday planned and executed by you. Rest assured, all our future trips this side will be...
Read moreMy booking started by direct interaction with owner of the property and was kind enough of to share all details with regards to availability and booking and had also helped us book vehicles for the trip & the refernece vehicle was also cooperative in the trip. You need to climb close to 100 stairs right on check-in but the boys were swift enough to get our luggages in no-time. We were welcomed with much needed tea as the temp was close 3degrees and checkin procedure went smooth. We were assignment a person to whom we can contact 24*7 for any concerns. We had booked 3 family rooms and it was all clean and maintained ones with an amazing view from the upper deck. As they have a common hot water boiler for the property you might have to call for that than getting it directly into ur washroom lines. That kind of was thumbs down but wasnt a big trouble as on call it was available in 5-10mins. As we are jain family we are always concerned with food whenever we trAvel but surprisingly their entire food arrangement were jain during breakfast and dinner, delicious food and no repeats. Everything was serves hot and a coal fire was arranged inside the restaurant to keep us and the hands warm while eating which was quite a detail service as bon fire isnt allowed in auli. On the second day we had shifted to triple sharing, rooms were good like earlier but in one of the rooms the entire western toilet closet came off the floor and fell down and we had informed the same to management then they had screwed it down and again in few hours it came off the and the entire washroom was flooded with dirty water and room was stinking, couldnt stay inside. We insisted change of room but we werent given any and instead room was cleaned and they coudlnt fix it so everyone shared the washroom of the other rooms for the whole day. That was the only big issue in our stay for which i give 1 star down. Property is quite near to the ropeway and u can just directly hop in to go for trekking or ski than hopping into a car and going up hill. This was helpful as we were very tired to walk anywhere after the trek. Rest our check out went smooth and in whole a good experience with Blue...
