Gunsola Homestay — Hotel in Uttarakhand

Gunsola brothers are a cool set of hosts. I don't believe I even joked with them with their surname gunsola while I was playing with my son. Apologies, Mr Gunsola. I came to know that it was your sur name only later. But I hope you understand the context and intent.

I visited this homestay with my wife and five yr old son this intense and touristy June. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom is large with good quality fittings. The balcony has a good view. It is a quiet place. The hosts are flexible with check out timings. Yes, the path to the property is almost 200 metres and is steep but for persons with no health issues is a good exercise. Moreover you can't get any taxi once you enter mall road as taxis are not permitted. The homestay is at the heart of the city and yet calm and quiet. The hosts were kind to drop our luggage till the main road after we checked out. I can't expect more than all this. Finally they have a lovely non threatening dog.

For Mussorrie visit I would say that avoid the peak season as the rush overwhelms you. You can't find a place to eat and taxis and hotels are costlier (though the gunsola homestay was reasonable as compared with the ridiculous prices of other places). And you just can't breathe in the town. Don't go anywhere in the peak season especially in the mountains as I experienced Manali last yr and Mussorrie and Rishikesh this...

If u're looking for peace and want to spend time with nature then this place is just perfect for that..we spend 2 Days with them no doubt the owner of this property is such a generous person that they never let u feel like a customer he is taking care of everything he drops us to the mall road which is around 200mtrs. And about amenities yes geyser tv is available and an almirah room and bathroom was neat and clean. Whoever is visiting mussoorie must experience the views from their balcony . No need to go anywhere for sunset view just sit back on the lawn area and see the sun hiding behind...

Stayed here for 1 day only, but such a good host, really good rooms, neat and clean, with basic amenities provided like TV, geyser, drinking water. They provide room heater too but with extra charges. The view from balcony was breathtaking. The only demerit of this place was the location, it was around 500m from mall road with steep roads, it was really difficult to walk from the homestay location to mall road, felt like trekking 😂. But the host was kind enough to drop our luggage by his vehicle upto the Mall road...
