The Island House Homestay — Hotel in Vallarpadam

We had the most enjoyable, relaxing stay at The Island House. Fabin is most empathetic, is always aware and available for his guests’ needs. The house is riddled with art from around the world, is absolutely stunning in day and night! We got a quick brief history about the house from our host and a sneak peak into John Oliver's life throughout the stay. The Island House is scenic not just from the outside, but from the inside as well.

If you’re driving in, the approach and parking might be a tiny hurdle, but Fabin is kind enough to arrange for a Tuk-Tuk to ensure smooth transit at every step. Travel to the main city/tourist attractions can be a little taxing since the property is a little ways away from the hustle-bustle of the city, however, the peace at home makes it worth your while.

Additionally, during our 3 day stay, Fabin also arranged for basic food items like Tea, Coffee, Bread, Butter and Jam, Cooking Oil, Milk, etc without a single charge! Food delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy also delivers on The Island House’s doorstep if you’re looking to stay in.

Recently had the pleasure of staying at The Island House, a unique rental property with a fascinating history. Built by a foreigner, this cozy abode now offers a warm welcome to travelers seeking a tranquil retreat.

The property boasts an excellent waterfront location, offering stunning views and a serene atmosphere. However, accessing the place can be a bit challenging, especially if you're driving. Be prepared to park your car about 50 meters away from the stay, which wasn't a major issue for me.

The house has a distinct French flair, courtesy of the owner's thoughtful interior design choices. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, making for a relaxing stay.

I was impressed with the overall cleanliness and hygiene standards maintained throughout the property.

I’ve stayed at many homestays, but this one truly stands out as the best! What makes it even more special is the exceptional host, Fabin. He was incredibly attentive and responsive to all our needs, making our stay comfortable and memorable.

The location is absolutely breathtaking—situated right opposite the serene, windy Vembanad Lake. The spacious, long balcony offers stunning, uninterrupted views of the lake, making it a perfect spot to relax and unwind.

The rooms were impeccably clean, and the house's interior, with its charming British-European touch, added a unique elegance to the experience. To top it all off, we were greeted with festive Christmas decorations, including a beautifully adorned Christmas tree, which truly elevated the holiday vibes.
