On our way back to Farakka from Kolkata we visited Tarapith temple. We stayed for one night at this hotel, and since our primary objective was visiting the temple, we had to choose the closest option. Although this hotel might not be the closest, as you would find other options as well along the temple road, but one has to balance between price and distance. Anyway, the hotel is a big one with many room options. We chose an average room meaning not the lowest in the hierarchy, but one that wouldn’t suffocate us out. Room was pretty small with old furniture, old TV, hard mattress, noisy bed etc. We weren’t however disappointed at all as we were expecting these in the hotels in this area and you won’t get anything better than this for 500 bucks. They have a restaurant in the ground floor where meal is really cheap. A veg meal platter comes for 60 bucks which includes rice, dal, 2 types of veg sides, papad, chutney.
