Kalyani Lodge Tarapith — Hotel in West Bengal

On our way back to Farakka from Kolkata we visited Tarapith temple. We stayed for one night at this hotel, and since our primary objective was visiting the temple, we had to choose the closest option. Although this hotel might not be the closest, as you would find other options as well along the temple road, but one has to balance between price and distance. Anyway, the hotel is a big one with many room options. We chose an average room meaning not the lowest in the hierarchy, but one that wouldn’t suffocate us out. Room was pretty small with old furniture, old TV, hard mattress, noisy bed etc. We weren’t however disappointed at all as we were expecting these in the hotels in this area and you won’t get anything better than this for 500 bucks. They have a restaurant in the ground floor where meal is really cheap. A veg meal platter comes for 60 bucks which includes rice, dal, 2 types of veg sides, papad, chutney. I was on tour of Bengal, and planned my reasonable trip. That's why I have choosen this lodge and I paid 500 for one night. Lodge has old furniture and ambience but It does not matter for me. Very very bad experience....ac is not working......but they not shifted my family to another ac room..... totally unprofessional system.....owner is just for the business they have no such a mankind.....my 3 years old baby facing a problem for suffocation on that room for the airconditioner problem..so I highly request to all visitors do not book this hotel....for family or...
