We celebrated a special birthday with family & friends in a hall at Turyaa (@ OMR) recently. based on my overall experience, this is my feedback. Pros: 1) Point of contact - I began my planning for the event about 4 months in advance; my single point of contact throughout this period was a person named Prabhu Kumar who is part of the Sales team there. I found Prabhu to be polite, efficient and always reachable (he would msg me back in case he couldn't answer my call). Prabhu took care of everything, hence, I didn't have to deal with multiple people. Also, since I was not locally based, we were in touch via phone calls & WhatsApp until the day before the event. 2) The hall - We wanted a hall that could accommodate at least 50 adults and still have room for kids to run around in the front - Prabhu suggested the 'Utsava 2' hall on the first floor which we booked - we found the hall to be spacious, well lit and fit for our purpose. 3) Pre-event meeting - a day before the event, Prabhu invited me to the hotel to physically check out the facilities and to meet the chef (Mr. Tamil vanan) since I had requested for a specific dietary requirement; we also discussed the birthday cake flavour, design etc. 4) Food + birthday cake - the spread was a mix of south Indian and north Indian, and the everyone complimented the food selection and taste which we were happy about; the birthday cake was a black forest eggless cake which was great too - it was soft, moist and not too sweet - Chef Tamil Vanan had done a fantastic job 5) Cost - while it wasn't cheap, I have to admit that the cost was competitive and I did not feel that I was being overcharged for anything Areas of improvement - these are not big flaws or deal-breakers - just some minor improvement areas: 1) Since there are many events going on at any single time, there should be a STATIC display at the reception area constantly showing the event and the hall name - currently, there is 1 display that cycles through all the events like a slideshow (i.e. it shows 1 card with ONE event for 10-15 seconds, then cycles to the next event, etc etc), people who are walking in may not know to wait in front of the display until the event they are looking for is shown, they may simply walk past it or ask the reception desk or call the host (which defeats the purpose of this display) 2) The above is true even for the display outside the event hall - at least that should show a STATIC image of the event taking place inside that hall 3) The A/C in our hall was a bit one-sided - the back half of the hall was much cooler than the front half (we requested for the A/C to be increased but it didn't make much difference) 4) While the food overall was great, only 1 dish did not meet expectations - it was the rasmalaai - while the taste was good, the texture was not - it was hard and chewy rather than soft and creamy Overall, our event was a success thanks to Prabhu and his team at Turyaa. My personal rating would be an easy 4.5 out of 5. (Apart from the event described above, we did not stay at the hotel.)

Edit 2024 - probably one of the worst Check in process - almost 30 minutes for a prepaid online bookinh. We need to send the proof in whatsapp (which will be informed only after we cross the huge queue waiting for checkin) - they dont even have scanners (mind you its a star property) When you have strict timings about checkin, you guys should think about the time wasted by guests for checkin process too 😊Have heard about the food festivals in Turyaa quiet often and recently had a chance to try their valentines week special set menu. Location - located prominently on OMR road in kandanchavadi. It's hard to miss this hotel. This restaurant is located on the roof top floor. Ambience - Both indoor and outdoor seating available. The open air seating is near to swimming pool and has also with a view of outside road. The indoor seating is no lesser in elegance. Food - we had items from the valentines week special menu. Being a non veg person, I concentrated mostly on the nonveg dishes. Starting from chicken soup, presented beautifully. The veg counterpart - broccoli soup tasted so natural. Not a salad person, but the chicken Caesar salad with Murgh kebab was so tender and delicious. The main attraction of the set menu was the non veg starters - meat ball, grilled Quail and Crab spring roll. 😍😍😍 Meat ball was similar to the kola urundai. Grilled Quail was less in meat but great in taste. The crab spring roll was so crispy and soft at the same time. Among the veg starters - chilly cheese tikka was our favorite. In the main course we had chicken saltimbocca Desi masala served with garlic rice and coconut Roti. Their desserts are served in an eye catchy way - red velvet cake, Framboise, and French chocolate... And don't miss their mocktails, and have a sip with a view from roof top. Service - 😊😊get ready to experience a five star service. The waiters are patient and knowledgeable about the dishes. Pricing - premium Pricing as it's finedining restaurant. Rating - 5/5

Turyaa Chennai, what a splendid place! My office mate and I ventured there for a night of business dining, and it was truly a delightful experience. The hotel boasts a pristine and stunning entrance, with ample parking space for bikes and cars. The glass lift adds a touch of modernity, allowing for scenic views and memorable photo opportunities. Our dinner was served on the terrace, offering a charming ambiance and a panoramic view of the city. The restroom facilities were impeccable, and we even indulged in a refreshing swim in the pool. The starters, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, were prepared fresh at the stall, served piping hot, which left a lasting impression. The highlight was undoubtedly the lavish buffet, featuring a plethora of delectable dishes that tantalized our taste buds. It was a feast to remember! The hotel accepts both credit cards and UPI payments, making transactions hassle-free. Overall, I highly recommend Turyaa Chennai for its impeccable service, scrumptious food, and inviting atmosphere. It was indeed a memorable experience that I would gladly repeat. 😊 *** Cred is a Credit card bill payment app. Register and make a minimum rs 100 payment to your credit card and get rs 250 assured cashback Registration link https://app.cred.club/spQx/s9oou80b ***

We celebrated a special birthday with family & friends in a hall at Turyaa (@ OMR) recently. based on my overall experience, this is my feedback.

Pros:

  1. Point of contact - I began my planning for the event about 4 months in advance; my single point of contact throughout this period was a person named Prabhu Kumar who is part of the Sales team there.
  2. The hall - We wanted a hall that could accommodate at least 50 adults and still have room for kids to run around in the front - Prabhu suggested the 'Utsava 2' hall on the first floor which we booked - we found the hall to be spacious, well lit and fit for our purpose.
  3. Pre-event meeting - a day before the event, Prabhu invited me to the hotel to physically check out the facilities and to meet the chef (Mr. Tamil vanan) since I had requested for a specific dietary requirement; we also discussed the birthday cake flavour, design etc.
  4. Food + birthday cake - the spread was a mix of south Indian and north Indian, and the everyone complimented the food selection and taste which we were happy about; the birthday cake was a black forest eggless cake which was great too - it was soft, moist and not too sweet - Chef Tamil Vanan had done a fantastic job
  5. Cost - while it wasn't cheap, I have to admit that the cost was competitive and I did not feel that I was being overcharged for anything

Areas of improvement - these are not big flaws or deal-breakers - just some minor improvement areas:

  1. Since there are many events going on at any single time, there should be a STATIC display at the reception area constantly showing the event and the hall name - currently, there is 1 display that cycles through all the events like a slideshow (i.e. it shows 1 card with ONE event for 10-15 seconds, then cycles to the next event, etc etc), people who are walking in may not know to wait in front of the display until the event they are looking for is shown, they may simply walk past it or ask the reception desk or call the host (which defeats the purpose of this display)
  2. The above is true even for the display outside the event hall - at least that should show a STATIC image of the event taking place inside that hall
  3. The A/C in our hall was a bit one-sided - the back half of the hall was much cooler than the front half (we requested for the A/C to be increased but it didn't make much difference)
  4. While the food overall was great, only 1 dish did not meet expectations - it was the rasmalaai - while the taste was good, the texture was not - it was hard and chewy rather than soft and creamy

Overall, our event was a success thanks to Prabhu and his team at Turyaa.

My personal rating would be an easy 4.5 out of 5.

Hotel Review: Turyaa Chennai

First Impressions and Check-In: Upon arrival at Turyaa Chennai, the initial experience was underwhelming. There was no warm welcome from the staff and the lack of smiles and general enthusiasm was noticeable. The customer service was disappointing, particularly with Raj, the receptionist, who demonstrated a clear need for hospitality training. His interaction skills were lacking, making the check-in process less than pleasant. Appreciate the effort from Jayshree to make us feel good.

Accommodation: Despite the poor start, the hotel manager stepped in and was helpful in upgrading us to a room with a single mattress, which was perfect for our family as it allowed our child to sleep comfortably in the middle. The room itself was beautifully decorated, clean and elegant, reflecting the hotel's aesthetic standards.

Location: The hotel is situated in the heart of the city, making it a convenient location for accessing various attractions and amenities in Chennai.

Amenities and Services: The overall cleanliness and elegance of the hotel are commendable. However, there are significant areas for improvement in terms of service: Dental Kits and Access Cards: Our family room was provided with only one dental kit and one access card. While we could request additional items, it would be more customer-friendly to provide these essentials upfront, especially in a hotel of this size. Housekeeping: We experienced a delay in the cleaning of used utensils, which remained unattended for an entire day. Swimming Area: There were no towels available at the swimming pool initially. Although a staff member assured us that towels would be provided, it would be more efficient to have a few towels readily available for guests.

Dining: The food at the hotel was excellent, contributing positively to our stay.

Conclusion: Turyaa Chennai has the potential to be a top-tier hotel given its beautiful decor, cleanliness and prime location. However, the staff's lack of hospitality skills significantly detracts from the overall experience. A focus on improving staff training and customer service can greatly enhance the hotel's reputation and popularity in Chennai. With these adjustments, Turyaa Chennai can provide a truly welcoming and comfortable stay...
