Me and my wife were travelling to Chennai to attend an interview and also to meet few friends. Since the interview was in Ambattur, we decided to stay close to that area. However, it was difficult to find a clean budget hotel in that area. It was by chance I came across Amutha Residency in one of the websites. Their website is also pretty good with all the necessary details. ||||Reading reviews of various hotels in Chennai, we were apprehensive about the cleanliness and location of the hotel. However, all that changed once we reached Amutha Residency. We had booked an AC room for 2 days (Tariff - Rs. 1000 to Rs.1500 per day with 24hrs check-in) ||||Since our train got delayed, we reached Perambur station (Closer to hotel than Chennai Central) at 10:30 PM and reached the hotel at 11:00 PM. The directions given by the reception was pretty good and we had not much trouble finding the hotel even at that part of night. ||||The hotel is located on the second floor of a five storey building. The ground floor door was locked when we reached, however we were advised to call the reception if we got late. A wait of 5 minutes and the door was open and we were led to the reception.||||Check-in took just 5 minutes and we were shown to our room. The room was clean, even though the bed sheets and pillow covers were bit stained (acceptable by the budget standards). The room was pretty spacious and well laid out.The toilets were clean and there was no water disruption during our entire stay. ||||Even though there is no attached restaurant, the room boy managed to get us dinner at 11:45 in the night.||||Overall our experience was pretty good considering that it was a clean place and the location was perfect for the purpose of our visit. ||||Except that you have to pay to get TV remote and AC remote, rest everything was fine and in very good condition. But again, AC is set in Auto mode so its fine and TV, well who goes to a hotel to sit and watch TV and if needed we can always use the manual channel change.||||I would definitely recommend this place especially because of non availability of a decent place in that area at a...

I booked 10 rooms in the month of November for the month of January for a function. I booked rooms here because, the lodge was close to our home.
After receiving complaints from my relatives regarding the maintenance, we came to a conclusion to:
“Never book a room here”.
A single duplex room costed Rs.1800, but it was not worth the price at all. We received complaints like: The room was not well clean. Some rooms had bad odour. The bedsheets provided were dirty and had a bad odour too.
The main part here is, our relatives are supposed to vacate the room at 3:00 AM. Because of the lack of water supply at that time, the relatives found it very difficult as we had our function in the early hours.
Even, when I was attending the function, the Receptionist pressurised me in paying the final due amount. Whereas I asked him to wait for half an hour. But, he...
Read moreWe stayed here in the 1st week of April while attending a wedding near the hotel. On returning back to my city Pune, realised that I had lostnone of my gold ear studs. I called and spoke to Azhagesh at the reception and since the room was not occupancy he went and searched. However during our conversation I mentioned that it was my late mother's earrings. Next day morning they specially went through all the laundry and got the room cleaned. He found the earring, called to confirm with pictures and handed it over to my sister. I wanted to reward him. However he said that quote "mam, since the earrings are your late mother's, they are priceless for you. I am happy we found it" Unquote. I was speechless. Three cheers for such honesty. Azhagesh,...
