Grand Hatika Hotel — Hotel in Billiton

I stayed here for 4 nights and in my opinion there are much, much better alternatives with similar or even lower price. I would prefer BW Suites or Santika Premiere rather than this hotel.

Wi-Fi did not work in my room. I have asked for them to repair it 5 times, and until I checked out it was still not usable. Laundry service was fast but you have to ask the housekeeping for your laundry to be delivered to your room several times. In my case it was three times. Breakfast sucks big time. They don't provide tea/coffee service, the waiters were unresponsive, they didn't refill the drink or the food when it ran out, the selection were very limited, they didn't even provide basic cutlery at the dining table so you have to go and pick it up somewhere else. Meeting room was okay. Room was spacious and so is the bathroom, but they are old fashioned. The rooms have no plugs near the bed and the only unused plug I could find was near the TV, which means it is very inconvenient should you want to play your phone while charging. The lamp was too dimmed somehow. The housekeeping service forgot to give new towels almost everyday even though you already asked them. The amenities were pretty standard. I am a little bugged that they put the shampoo and liquid soap in a rather rigid vials so it was hard to squeeze out the contents. The hotel does not have gym or fitness center. It has a rather small swimming pool. The location was good though, exactly at the front of Tanjung Pendam beach entrance (though this makes any noise from the events at the beach penetrate your room, but I don't mind this too much) and very close to the mosque. All in all I do not recommend...

Only the location was good, just 1 min opposite walk to Tanjung Pandan beach.

Overall service of the hotel was poor.

WiFi was very weak specially in the room.

It was mentioned sea view room but it was fully interrupted by trees, couldn’t see any sea view.

Twin room was mentioned in the booking time with sea view but at the reception said, no twin room has sea view option.

We took deluxe double room, the room size was good but wash room door was slightly broken.

At breakfast time, the live food section cook was not available for 10 mins or so, we had to notify them multiple times to appear.

Breakfast menu was very limited & inadequate.

Overall air condition of the hotel was not good at all, specially at the lobby.

Room A/C was not cooling adequately.

One of our room A/C was leaking with water, had to call mechanic to fix.

Swimming pool area service was worst, we had to wait & notify 4/5 times to...

Stayed here with my wife and son for three nights and were very pleased with the location, close to most places in TanjungPandan and also close to the high way to make any trip when going south or west very quickly. The breakfast buffet is large and plentiful however if you want a traditional western breakfast the options are limited. The rooms are larger than other hotel chains and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool was ok but the terrace needs more umbrellas! was delayed and we where offering both drinks at the hotel piano bar and a late check...
