Hotel Santika Cirebon — Hotel in Cirebon

I've stayed several times here, either for business trip or family fun. Recently, my wife and I visit Cirebon because we have family occasion. We often booked hotel through Agoda, but that day all our favourite hotel is full booked. I forgot that weekend is a long weekend. So we try to call Hotel Santika Cirebon, hoping that there's some room available. And there is Executive Room still available, we thought it would be expensive but its surprise us that the room rate is still affordable. We booked, and no need credit card number for the booking, this is also surprised me (I'm hotelier, so if they don't need a guarantee for the booking. Its a bold act or theres something wrong with the room..he3.)

So we arrive in the hotel at 19.00, it's raining hard, but they welcome us with warmth. The security is very responsive to take care our parking, they pick us up with umbrella. The greeter welcome us and point us to the receptionist. Our booking is confirm by the receptionist, and the check in process is fast only 5minutes our room is ready and we can go to our room. The Lobby is amazing, decorate with Javanese decoration and sculpture its classic and beautiful. They have a good facilities, swimming pool and garden is good if you travel with family, they have fitness Centre that can accommodate your work out, business Centre, coffee shop, large parking area, convention hall, and they have entertainer in the lobby to welcoming guests.

The room is nice, clean and the positioning of the furniture is well arrange. The TV channel is well chosen channels, the room amenities and bathroom amenities is good. The mini Bar already include the room price, so you can enjoy it without hesitation. But the matter for me is, the room lighting is gloomy, need to be brighten up a little bit. Also they have old furniture, need to be maintain or replaced cause the table have a lot of dent and the paint have some that already faded. Our room view is great, we have swimming pool view.

The room service menu is average, but the taste is great, the portion and the price is fit. We have breakfast in the morning, and the selection menu is wonderful, they provide indonesian breakfast that for me is really amazing. Not many Hotel prioritize local breakfast menu, they usually have main menu for breakfast is western and continental. Local menu is just for complementary, but not in Hotel Santika Cirebon.

Ooohh and one thing, if you bring vehicle. When you park, they will ask you whether they can wash your car in the morning. This is not part of Hotel services, but with a good tipping for the parking car staff. They clean your car and the result is very satisfied. Its a plus services for me..

From my point of view, I give Hotel Santika...

This was my first time staying at Hotel Santika Cirebon and overall, it was exactly the kind of "okay" you'd expect from a Santika..clean, comfortable, and reliable. A few highlights, a few areas for improvement...but generally, a good stay.

Yes, the hotel is clearly on the older side and would definitely benefit from a renovation, especially in certain areas..but to be fair, it’s still in decent shape and well-maintained for its age.

One thing that really stood out was the staff. From the moment I arrived...everyone was warm, helpful, and genuinely attentive, from the front desk team to the housekeeping staff and restaurant crew. The kind of service that reminds you why Santika has a solid name in hospitality.

When I arrived in the early afternoon, the place felt quite empty...but after returning from dinner, the parking lot was almost full, a sign that it’s still a popular choice. Luckily, there were still enough spots, and I believe there’s a basement parking area too? (didn’t check, but pretty sure).

The room was spacious, just like those classic-style hotels. The bed and pillows were comfy, and the sheets, towels (both big and small) were clean..no complaints there. Bonus points for the cold mini fridge, which is very much appreciated, especially in Cirebon where the food is amazing...because let’s be honest, you’ll end up bringing something back to stash in the fridge before taking it home to Jakarta 😄🍴

Now...the bathroom could use some love. The water pressure and hot water were great, but the lower corners showed signs of wear and some mold or staining, especially near the edges. Maybe they’ve been scrubbed too many times or not enough..but definitely an area for improvement.

One thing I personally found a bit uncomfortable was the lighting. The room had a warm, dim tone, which is still fine for resting...but the bathroom lighting was way too dark, especially above the toilet area. It really could use some brightening up.

As for breakfast, the service was great, no issue there, but the food selection and quality were underwhelming. It didn’t quite live up to the Santika standard I’ve experienced elsewhere. Even the basic items like butter didn’t taste quite right, and the bubur (rice porridge) was oddly off. It’s not about fancy dishes, just consistency and quality.

That said..the overall experience was still good. The comfort, service, and strategic location make this hotel a reliable choice for staying in Cirebon—especially with a few updates...

This quite old hotel, so can smell the old furniture in the room. Not so spacey, the pool is okay, good enough for family. The restaurant provided traditional and western breakfast, it tasted good but for egg station and cakes out side the restaurant was many flies and few inside the restaurant as well. It made the breakfast very inconvenient. The food was better then Santika Hotel in Pekalongan. They provided nasi Jamblang and Lengko everyday. It's a bit over price to stay at this kind of hotel. They did not ask to tap the key at the elevator so in term of security, it's not recommended. Also the room key, they still used the old style not the tap, they gave card key which need to insert the key then open. They only give one key, but you can ask for another card for electricity only. Also the spa is inexpensive but I didn't try because the spa room was inconvenience, they planned to renovate it. Also the sauna is so small, the light in the toilet rooms is not bright enough. They only has one spa room and sauna which located in the toilet area near the pool. It made me don't want to try at all, it looked like not well maintained. So next time will try Luxton. My suggestion for tourists who wants to stay in Cirebon, please try new hotel much better. Patra Hotel is quite new and...
