Hey! I stayed for several days in this camp and i can say it’s one my favorite experiences in my trip to Asia, for some reason i don’t understand negative comments as my experience was completely fullfilling and joyful, same as the group of people that I met in the camp.
Starting the day, in the mornings we woke up ready to surf depending on the swell, they put the time in the board and notify, then we go surfing, they take care of us all the time on the water and explained us everything we needed, once we’re back the breakfast is ready made by the local and friendly ladies in the kitchen.
Usually in the afternoon there was chill and free time where most of the people can have a rest by reading a book, chilling by the pool or surf more if you still have energy.
After that some days have yoga sessions where everyone got together or fitness sessions depending on the day.
and usually nights are social enough to met people and play pool in the common area but not too much as a big party. so it’s perfect for socialize and met the others, ohh also the locals at the camp are incredible at chess so you can challenge them and they’re always happy and open to play
Overall my experience in Red Island was one of my best moments of the trip and i would summarize it as:
✅Amazing spot (good waves and local place where you can still see the culture of the people and learn from them, very calm and beautiful beach if you walk in the mornings) ✅ Good waves which are not dangerous as is only sand and no reef in the point and usually it’s not too shallow ✅ Real local experience, in some places of indo, tourists already got most of the place but red island is different, it’s still full of local and happy people around ✅ Amazing accommodation, the place is full of nature and you can really feel very comfortable as the spaces are really big, you can do any activity you want on the free time in the place as there place to play pool, the pool, yoga area, and garden 🪴, you can feel free as there’s always...
Read moreIt's one of the best places I know! Stayed here for three weeks and wish I could've stayed longer. Situated right next to the beach, it's perfect for anyone who loves the ocean. You can check the waves from camp, grab your board, and be in the water in less than two minutes. This place has some of the best sunsets I've ever seen. The surrounding area is beautiful and you won't find too many tourists there. There are local shops, cafés and restaurants in walking distance. If you feel like exploring more of the area, you can easily rent a scooter next door. The camp itself is beautiful, very clean and well maintained. It's a great place to relax but also socialize. They have everything you could ask for, including a swimming pool, spacious seating area, hammocks, yoga mats, and pool table. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and will make you feel welcome from the start. The food was always freshly prepared and delicious. They will organize trips for you if you wish or help you with anything you might need. I can recommend taking a boat ride to the Secret Beach and going for a swim in the cave on the way back. The surflessons are very well organized, and the instructors will make sure you have the best possible time. I once went to a local school with their Care Project, and it was one of my favorite experiences! You can also visit the dragonfruit and rice fields and learn about local food production and culture. We also got to see a javanese dance performance, which was beautiful! I love the support and close collaboration with the locals. If you're looking for an authentic Indonesian experience, this is the place. I also loved the bonfire at the beach and the Zumba classes! It's a special experience cause the people really care for you, each other and their environment. I already miss them and the place! I hope I can...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed at the Red Island Surf Camp for 5 days, which was definitely not enough. I could stay there forever. We went there through Mojo Surf with some other young beginner and intermediate surfers, and everything was just perfect. We slept in a nice private room called a "Bungalow", where we had a dreamy bed and a cool outside bathroom. ||||The staff who are both locals and people from around the world, were very nice and helpfull. The local kitchen ladies made delicious food 3 times a day, and not a single time was I disappointed. The cool swedish camp manager, Rick, and both the yoga- and surf-instructors were always ready to tell interesting stories and participate in the daily events - wether it was surfing all day, playing cards in the evening or just relaxing next to the pool.||The surfing lessons as well were on point. Our three instructors were all talented and english speaking - and their all time big smiles were just another plus.||||The atmosphere in this camp is so joyful and dreamy. It is filled with hammocks, tree cabins, beautiful garden areas and is placed right next to the beach. I had the most wonderful time there hanging out and getting close with all the other guests. And another thing you wouldn't miss out on, are the most beautiful sunsets...
