We found Red Island Container Hotel through Airbnb and had an amazing time because of the hospitality of the owner, Andi. He picked us up for free, treated us to dinner and a visit to his friend's dragonfruit farm, and was always available when we needed him, including suggesting a local place to get surf lessons. The hostel is only a two minute walk from the beach. The accommodations are relatively basic but they were everything we needed (most importantly, there was AC)....
