I did a 10 day package via Scoopon and I had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. There were some hiccups but the staff were professional and helpful rectifying the issues which minimised any negative impacts they may have caused. The place and decor feels a bit dated but it is still pretty modern and comfortable. For the price I was paying, Im not complaining. If you want to stay in an ultra modern sophisticated resort then youre better off booking at The W or the Ritz Carlton. I have broken down my review as per follows: Villa: Stayed in the one bedroom villa. Clean, comfortable and spacious. The private plunge pool is a decent size to do mini laps or just float around in. Pool and villa gets cleaned and towels replaced daily. I had two incidents. The first night the electronic lock died and had to be replaced. Another day, it was raining and the lights in the kitchenette shorted. Staff arranged for both issues to be fixed promptly. Facilities: Theres a gym, restaurant, rooftop bar, spa/massage, and guest pool and jacuzzi. The gym is quite small and equipment is limited to 4 machines and some free weights. The air-conditioner wasnt working so it got pretty warm. The restaurant is where you go for breakfast and lunch. Meals are ala carte only but the portions are decent enough. Theres a good range of balinese and western food which were delicious. Recommend trying all the Balinese dishes especially the Indonesian crepes. The rooftop bar is where dinner is served. Im not much of a drinker so stuck with mocktails and juices (which were made with real fruit at the bar). My package had some free 1 hour massages. These were really good, professional and I fell asleep on the table a couple of times. Guest pool and jacuzzi. Did not used these as I used the one in my villa. Staff: Friendly, professional and helpful. From reception, service staff to the gardeners they greeted me with a smile everytime they saw me. Whenever I had a query or issue they provided exceptional assistance. Location: Not something that they can change but mentioning this to manage peoples' expections. If youre looking for a relaxing getaway spending your day in bed or by the pool then this will be a great retreat. If youre looking to wander about or want to stay somewhere central then you will be disappointed. The villa is situated far from pretty much everything such as money changers, shops and cafes. The roads are narrow (and in certain areas with lots of potholes) with a decent amount of traffic. The Leaf does provide a courtesy shuttle to Jimbaran Beach but only twice a day. Hiring a scooter or taxi is the best way to get around and travelling to Uluwatu or Nusa Dua would cost around 100k rupiah. Overall, Im happy with my stay here and would gladly stay here again and recommend The...
Read moreMy experience at the hotel was seriously terrible:
We arrived at 12:30 PM to drop off our luggage, but since check-in wasn’t until 3 PM, we went for a walk. When we returned at around 2:50 PM, the front desk staff told us to wait until exactly 3 PM to check in. There was no flexibility.
Once in the room, the staff promptly delivered our luggage, but they brought the wrong pieces. How careless is that? What if our luggage had gone missing or been sent to someone else?
The room Wi-Fi was completely unusable, and the TV’s YouTube wouldn’t connect. After notifying the front desk and waiting 10 minutes for help, we had to leave for our next appointment, telling them we’d return to address the Wi-Fi issue.
When we got back to the hotel around 10 PM, the front desk informed us that the Wi-Fi issue had been fixed. We appreciated their effort, but upon returning to our room, we found the Wi-Fi was still not working. The staff insisted there was no problem because they had fixed it.
We tried to prepare for a shower, but there was no hot water. This was unacceptable.
I called the front desk wanting to change room, but the staff insisted we have to wait for maintenance and told us to stay calm. I insisted on a room change due to the ongoing Wi-Fi and hot water issues, but they refused, saying we needed valid reasons and evidence. I don’t understand why they kept telling me I didn’t have strong evidence and made me wait.
When the maintenance staff finally arrived, they initially thought we didn’t know how to use the faucet, but soon realized it was a hotel issue—the hot water system on the roof had been turned off.
The front desk staff’s handling of the situation was problematic. We eventually spoke to a manager who was much more understanding and willing to listen to our concerns.
After all this, on our check-out day, we were in a rush to get to the airport. The staff inspected our room and asked where the TV remote was. We told them it was on the shelf, and they found it quickly. This made us worry that we had misplaced it. Shouldn’t they check thoroughly before asking guests? And shouldn’t they apologize when they finally locate it?
Aside from the fact that they prepared takeaway breakfast for us when they knew we had an early departure to the airport, my overall experience at the hotel was very disappointing. From the lack of flexibility during check-in to the ongoing issues with Wi-Fi and hot water, the service did not meet expectations. Although the manager was more understanding, the overall handling of the situation was...
Read moreThis has been one of the cleanest places with one of the best staff I have experienced in the last years - and I have travelled more then 15 countries in less then 40 months.
And this is a tough one to review for me. The service here is awesome - special thanks to Ama and Komang and also to anyone who cleaned our rooms and helped us with the baggage - and not to forget: the nice people at the reception.
When we arrived we had problems with mosquitos, but after changing the room this was solved immediately. The people here are really caring about their guests! Special thanks to Ismah, who did an awesome job to help us here. She even provided cremes and interviewed us about our needs.
Some things I have to mention: If you want to live your holidays here, relax, perhaps with your family, you might have found the right spot. Great service, fair pricing, good travel opportunities.
But... if you are more like us - very fit, living healthy and vegan, this might not be the best spot for you. The menu has only little choices and the breakfast is also limited in what you can get to have healthy proteins. We kind of missed out on the healthy as well as the fruity bowls you get everywhere in Bali. Instead you get western hotel food - which the lot of customers here enjoy! Good in quality and much of it - but this is catered more to those who love their belly ;-). The gym is also very small. They have done their best and I know they are eager to learn - and that is why I give 5 stars. We got extra avocados and almond milk without a problem - you just have to ask one time and they remember. I bet for the next vegan guests they will have more options.
The spa is really nice! Must try!
What this place has not to offer is a great area around for shopping and spa and going out. But as a welcome gift they really make up for this by voucher after voucher, be it for the spa, for a floating breakfast or some evening dinner. You will enjoy your time here - and if you want to go somewhere else, they have cheap transport services and right around the corner there is a nice place to get your scooter (greetings to Putra!).
We leave this place with a most thankful heart.
Edit: just went to breakfast a last time and they already added vegan wraps, so as mentioned: they really care and adopt to your...
