If you are looking for peace and tranquility away from the crowds to spend private time with family or friends, then the Amertha Bali Villas is perfect. We stayed in Villa 5 (Jempiring) and for the price you would pay for a room in the south of Bali, you are given an entire villa, with two separate rooms, two indoor bathrooms and a beautiful outdoor shower, veranda, private pool and back garden, gazebo and sun lounging area, kitchen and dining area from where you can enjoy room service and a more private eating experience. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with a wide range of tropical trees and plants, and a wonderful beachfront restaurant which has a really great menu. Villa 5 has both garden and sea views and a beautiful pond which is the home of five delightful catfish which villa gardener, Gede, showed us how to feed. The “room boys” come every morning at around 9:30 to clean the villa and leave you with the most creative towel art I have ever seen. The resort also has a spa with a full spa menu and such friendly staff who make you feel like you are walking on air after each session. While we were there, there was a tour group of around 23 Canadians, but you would never have known it! The villas are so self-contained that you would think you had the whole resort to yourself. Snorkelling and dive amenities are on site and of course there are lots of other activities, too, but as I was travelling with my elderly mother we chose to stay close to home and enjoy the spa more than anything else. I would highly recommend the Amertha to anyone who wants to experience the north of Bali. Pemuteran is a three hour journey (organised through the Amertha) from Ubud through stunning mountain scenery, past lakes, markets and temples which are well worth stopping off at on route. There are coffee and clove plantations to enjoy and fields of hydrangeas and rice. We have been to the Amertha before and often choose to drive one way there and then back via Mount Agung. Although Pemuteran is not for people for whom shopping and nightlife is important, the main beach has four other resorts and restaurants to try out, and then main road through the village has some great cafes, restaurants, a bakery, mini-marts and an ATM and money changing facilities. Perhaps the biggest advantage we have found while staying at the Amertha is that time stands still. There is access to wifi and of course you can enjoy Netflix and Prime on the villa TV, but it takes no time before the environment just invites you to switch off. Thank you to all the staff for making this such a memorable visit. Special thanks to manager Sandi and guest relations manager Media, all the staff at reception, in the restaurant and in the spa for making this visit so memorable and enjoyable. The last time we visited was in 2011 and we are so relieved that the the village has recovered from the impact of Covid and that lost ones are not forgotten as...
Read moreWe stayed in this Villas (Amertha Bali Villas) back in July 2023 with my husband, brother in law and niece during our visits to Bali Indonesia. Two nights we stayed in the big group 4 villas behind the Reception. Outside the wall people burn trash so we swallowed all the smoke, and the dog barking all night long.
The third nights we moved to the Ocean View Villa with 3 bed rooms which initially we requested to be in the ocean view villas.
The compound has 12 units Villas with different owner. 3 Villas with Ocean View.
The ground is very nice with all flowers and trees here and there.
Each Villas has pool and there is also public pool near by the restaurant.
The Mattress is too old and create some wavy like a big hole, after wake up all my body is aching. I know the owner is from Denver, Colorado US. We met during our first stay between 2012-2014. We stayed in Villa number 7 which is the smaller villa behind the Ocean View Villa.
You think you paid $500 per night the mattress should be at least good for sleep but not at all.
When we check out at front desk I told to the reception desk that the mattress need to get rid and buy a new one. I even say please tell Mr. Owner (I will not stated his real name) the mattress need to be change.
I told them in our house we changed mattress at least every 5 years.
The other problem is the sink clocked, the hot water not running smoothly. The menu in the restaurant is ok we ordered most Indonesian food.
If they change all the mattress I may come back.
I don’t normally give review but this time I did in order to help others to choose the best places for their family vacation. Overall we enjoyed our vacation in Bali, in view different places and our driver help us to find every good restaurant in every corner or...
Read moreWE enjoyed our stay at Amertha Villas very much indeed. The villa we had was very comfortable with a good bathroom and it was one of four villas in the same area sharing a private pool. It was extremely quiet throughout the hotel so we had the private pool all to ourselves. There is also a larger pool at the beach. Because it was so quiet it felt like the hotel was amost closed - we were the only people at dinner the first night. A small group of ladies arrived the next day. There is a sister hotel a few yards down the beach which seemed much busier and there is good snorkelling off the beach and day trips out to Menjangan Island.||The spa was excellent - and we had good massages and I had a pedicure. All the staff were smiley and did their best to help you. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully kept. Our only real complaint was the breakfast which was not great at all - the first two days we were served at a table but no choice really just a small plate of fruit and bread or toast and the third day (I guess because perhaps there were more people) a rather small and not terribly good buffet. But this is a small niggle in what is otherwise a...
