After trekking in the jungle for 3 days, I felt like find a nice hotel to relax. I walked in, asked for a bargain, spent 350,000 Rp for two days. As I don't have enough cash in my pocket, I asked to pay latter, the lady said fine. By the way, she isn't the only one in the hotel who can speak English . The double room was just a little bigger than a double bed, but I am too tired to find another one. No more than 3 minutes after I entred the room, the reception guy knocked my door heavily, money, money, he said. I was a bit angry, said wait a moment, and came to the reception after him. The room was so noisy, I try to ask for a quiet room, the funny thing is, no one can understand quiet, although I wrote it down like quiet=Not noisy. It spends sometime for them to look up it in a dictionary, and I got it finally.||Later in the afternoon, I try to ask for laundry, the guy said, for my 4 pieces of pants and T-shirts, it is 15000 Rp for washing, and 5000Rp for him. What? Anyway, I had no choice, again, pay right now, no Receipt ||When the next afternoon coming, I came to him and ask, can I have my laundry? He seemed like totally forgot! I had to use google translate, type sentences like: I paid you 20,000 Rp for my laundry yesterday, where is it? After a loooong wait I got my laundry.||||When the third day coming, I cannot wait to leave. The reception girl was nice to show me the public bus to medan. Then the ridiculous guy appeared again, he said, I can call a taxi for you to Medan ! how much? 200,000Rp. I said no and left as...
Read moreBig minus point is the deep/loud (traffic)noise from outside. Their location is very bad. They can't fix the noise, but they could invest in some good isolation so you have at least an okey night rest. They are working on it but seems like already for a long time. We are backpackers and sleeped in many cranky-hotels so we are not very critical, but this night was truly horrible: like some airplanes are flying in your room, took us a long time to sleep in and for people that really need a good night rest: it takes you some days to recharge your energy. The hotel itselves is totally open, like the room is standing on itselves on the middle of the road, no walls around it. The young guy (we think son of the owner) speaks quite good English and helped us with some things. We also told him our complaints and that they advertice with hot showerwater. Check the other comments in tripadvisor: you won't get hot water. For us it would be a luxury anyway, but we payed for it. In the end we got 30.000R back from the 200.000R we payed. We found this place maby 80.000-100.000R worth it because the bed was good and the room was clean. You want a okey-good night rest? Please do yourselve a favour and invest in a little bit more expensive...
Read moreI booked the room via booking.com and got the confirmation through my e-mail. When I checked-up,the staff said the room that I booked is already taken and they offer me another room in the celler which is really dark and have no windows but they expect me to pay more for that " dark hole". That pissed me off and decided not to stay there. But then they gave the room in the celler with the same price as the room that I supposed to have and I can have my original room in the next morning.||Generally the rooms are very dirty as well as the bathrooms. The Stuff are quiet freindly but they didn't really know what to do. For example I have to tell them to clean upt the room and the bathroom before I moved to the second floor.||They did " clean it up " but I didnt really see any difference. They let the bathromm and the toilet wet, doesn't even bother to dry them up. No warm water eventhough they said, the warm water is availabel. I just get like 2 second of warm running water and that's it.||I wont stay...
