Hotel Sibayak Internasional Berastagi — Hotel in Sumatra

Hotel Sibayak is one of the legend hotel in the tourism town of Berastagi. It had been existed for more than 30 years. Hotel Sibayak is equipped with choices of various types of rooms from superior to the villa style with two bedrooms and garage. Hotel Sibayak also has a restaurant, swimming pool, business center, tennis court, lounge and spa center.

Due to the age of the hotel, the rooms' design and furniture were little bit old but still could be functioned well. The bed was not so bad even though not so comfy. Tea and coffee facilities were available too. In room wifi speed was good. They have twin and double bed room. The bathroom was old design with bathtub. Hot and cold water shower was available. The bathroom amenities (shampoo, soap, toothbrush, shower cap) were provided as well. No hairdryer was provided. The towel and bedsheet were clean though.

Their in-house breakfast spread was really good. It has main courses of rice and dishes, choices of eggs, steamed food, porridge, noodle soup, local cakes, toast bread, squash and water, cereals, salad, spaghetti, cut fruits, etc. Taste of the breakfast was good. Lunch and dinner was provided at Gundaling Restaurant, their inhouse restaurant.

The crew hospitality needed to be improved. They were lack of smile upon meeting up guests. The management needed to consider to allow giving two room keycard for guests' convenience.

The hotel's compound was spacious. It was a good place if you are holding up an event for group. The cleanliness and comfort of the hotel's compound was good. Parking spaces were spacious for guests'...

Worst Experience for staying a night with friends in this Hotel. Five of us have booked 2 rooms (no.119 & no.120) by our tour guide. We checked in around 7.00pm/8.00pm and even sleep not exceed 7 hours on the bed. The next days morning when we check out that time, five of us felt itchy on our leg and hand. We kept on apply some medicine on the red spot that bite by bed bugs at lobby when we checked out in the next morning. When we came back from Medan, my friends and I direct went to consult doctor for treatment, we were told that we were bitten by bed bugs. Althought now the itchiness & redness has gone but our hands and legs are full of bites and scars. I was feel sad about my appearance, my skin are full with dark spots and scars. It was affect my daily life and working. Besides, the hotel facilities are very old. Room are old design and Material condition are too aged. No air conditioner, no fan, and even the window cannot be opened, we open our door directly in the early morning to get the air circulation. Breakfast in the Hotel are too bad also, full with fly and less choice to choose, no refill and empty for serve. The swimming pool is also very dirty, not dare to get in the swimming pool to...

The hotel should just be downgraded to a 2 star hotel. It's so bad in every aspect that I didn't know where to start. It's a disappointment. We booked 5 rooms, and out of 5, 4 rooms had issues. 1 room has mouldy smell so bad that from the outside of the room we can already smell. The other 3 have cockroach issues, there is a dead cockroach lying on top of the bed. We inform the receptionist regarding this issue and none of them apologize for this, they only put air freshener in the room. But then, even after housekeeping, the cockroach is still lying on top of the bed. Wasting of my time to go for another complaint if there is no job done. This should not happen in a 4 star hotel. Then, the shower is broken, we need to modify ourselves so that we can shower. They only provide 1 pillow. There are other 3 star hotels that provide 2 pillows without request. One of the bedsheets is torn. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Wifi is not available in the room. Limited connectivity.
