Reality check first...no hot water. Ever. Does a cold shower work in the heat and humidity, yes, in my view. Basic but clean rooms, occasionally shared with jungle critters ( repellent essential). Wifi (patchy) in lobby area, good restaurant, beer, orangutan on your doorstep, what's not to love? This place is amazing given you are in the middle of the jungle. Good places to eat in the village, nip to the next door hotel for a great 'ecolodge pizza' with actual vegetables if you are 'riced out' and if you get chance take the bonkers tuk tuk tour (200k rupiah for 2.5 hours and immense fun)....
Read moreThe place is located in wonderful site, but the amenities are rough: no hot water, lamps don't work, airflow is done by making window-sized holes that make the rooms have sound-proofing of a tent (holes are "closed" by mosquito nets). Hotel organizes extremely loud events that continue until night with very loud but bad sound quality, which really hurts your ears. Hotel staff (or someone other with a key) robbed all of our cash during night.||||There are nice lodges in Bukit Lawang with better amenities and lower price. Please...
