Check-In Date: 19/12/2022
Before checking in, I called the hotel twice to confirm the rooms had heating/cooling under customer's control and I was told, it is.
This was one of the major requirements post my experience in Jordan. I came to check in at around 8 am and they said, not it is not possible and it can either be cooling or heating. I argued my case and they said, we will change your room's system to cooling and in case you feel cold at some point, we will give you a portable heater to which I agreed.
Three days it worked well, fourth day i.e. a while ago I turned the AC on and it would not work. Called reception and they sent maintenance .. this maintenance guy said we have turned it to "heating" today and you can't use the AC.
I again called reception and they said you can change your room and we can't do anything. It is past midnight and they expect me and my mother who is in her 70s to get dressed, pack the luggage and change the room. Instead of giving us what we want (the basis of the whole stay in this pathetic hotel) they told us there is nothing we can do and instead started to give us options such as open the window (it is noisy outside from the streets). I am shocked, they did not ask us to sleep a certain way?
This has been the most pathetic hotel throughout my middle eastern tour so far. Reception is rude (Hussain is the guy doing graveyard shifts). They don't have duty manager on at this hour and there is no one who can help.
I would not even give it 1 star, the only reason they are getting it is cause of people at the Mood Cafe.
Most ridiculous service ever!
Guys, be careful before you plan on staying here. Word of caution is already...

I stayed at Coral Baghdad Hotel during a business trip, and while I don’t normally write reviews, this experience was beyond unacceptable and needs to be publicly known.
The room had a minibar and coffee capsules — but no coffee machine to use them. I thought it was strange but didn’t make a fuss. However, the real nightmare began at checkout. The receptionist accused me of stealing the coffee machine that was never in the room to begin with! They insisted they had to search my luggage, as if I were a criminal. I was in a hurry to catch a flight and had only two hours left, yet they chose to humiliate me in front of other guests and colleagues, with zero professionalism or respect.
Despite the search revealing nothing, not a single word of apology was offered. Instead, I was treated with suspicion and rudeness from start to finish. Their staff clearly lacks training in hospitality, basic manners, and common decency.
This kind of treatment is utterly unacceptable from any hotel, let alone one that claims to be business-friendly. I travel frequently, and this was hands down one of the most unprofessional and insulting experiences I’ve ever had.
Avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of hotels in Baghdad — go where you’re treated like a guest,...
