Luxurious Pampering in Baghdad
Simply put, The Babylon is the finest slice of luxury and creature comforts you can expect to find in the country! Right from the investments in Security staff and guards to the rich quality of food provided in the Breakfast, the hotel spares no expense in ensuring their guests get a high quality pampering and soaked in fine hospitality all through their stay. The property is an entirely different world and scene of serenity compared to whats outside its walls
LOCATION: The property is located right next to the Tigris river and some of the best sunsets can be enjoyed right from your room balcony/window!!
DINE + DRINK: A nice range of drinking and dining options within the premises, but no ALCOHOL served in premises. The rooftop bar and restaurant is a great place for sunset.. And the Breakfast is to die for, with a HUGE spread of local and international cuisines! You should probably skip your dinner to come prepared to feast on the choices they offer!
ROOM: I stayed in 1025, so this review is based on that; VIEW: the room comes with a balcony and a SPECTACULAR VIEW of the Tigiris river and sunset ; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Spa quality cosmetics that were really good
FACILITIES: One of the finest Gyms i have ever been to in this part of the world! And comes with a full range of weights and Cardio machines and since it is also meant for local members, it is as good as any full fledged fitness center in teh city. They have two unbelievably huge swimming pools, one outdoor and one indoor - both almost a Olympic grade lap pool!
SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all my needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to the front desk staff and the Satff at the breakfast restaurant
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in...
Read moreThis has to be the worst service I have experienced in Iraq- been here two weeks at all levels of properties. I have had multiple TV issues- been sick and had to lie in- and it takes an hour-plus for the maintenance to arrive. I rarely experience this low-level of service and mainly travel to the developing world. This is classed as a five-star, but is anything but a five-star. The rooms are incredibly dated, as they put all the money into the common areas. The buffet is very poor quality. Very disappointing overall. On a positive note, Keneth (concierge) took the initiative with a question when Reception did nothing. Update: the FOM wanted to make up for my poor experience and sent me a plate with sweets and fruit- which I appreciate- I did not eat the sweets, only the fruit. I ended up getting even more ill as a result. As they use filtered watered, I am thinking someone in the kitchen did not wash their hands. When more hotels move into the city, the hotel will be in trouble, as the hotel offers little. I travelled on to Amman and stayed at the Ritz Carlton, the property was so magnificent- including the service- that I stayed an additional night- the hotel charged the same amount as the...
