This hotel was a very disappointing experience. The rooms were clean, but the strong smell of smoke made them unpleasant to stay in. Already at check-in we were forced to pay for the entire stay in advance. This gave a very poor first impression and felt like a clear sign of distrust towards guests, something far below what you would expect from a professional hotel anywhere in the world. The staff, especially the receptionist, were arrogant, unfriendly, and showed no sense of hospitality. Later, when I forgot my key card in the room, I was not allowed to leave until the staff went up themselves to check. This treatment made me feel suspected rather than respected as a paying guest. It was humiliating and completely unacceptable. Another incident made the stay even more uncomfortable. When paying for three cups of coffee, I accidentally gave less money than required, simply because I am not used to handling Iraqi dinars after so many years abroad. This was obviously not intentional. Instead of addressing it in a polite or understanding way, the staff treated me in a manner that made me feel embarrassed and unwelcome. In most other countries, they would have explained kindly that something was missing. And in the Iraq I remember from over 30 years ago, they might even have said: “You don’t need to pay for the coffee, you are our guest.” That is the spirit of hospitality I expected to find, not this cold focus on money above all else. It was never about the small value of the coffee; it was about the attitude, the experience, and the way I was treated. As an Iraqi returning to Iraq for the first time in over 30 years, I had hoped for warmth, respect, and hospitality. Instead, I was met with suspicion, arrogance, and an obsession with payment. The only positive part of the entire stay was the breakfast waiter, who was the only polite and professional person we met. I have traveled widely and never experienced such poor treatment anywhere else. This hotel cannot be considered professional or welcoming, it...
Read moreIt functions as a hotel, but if I had other options, I would have avoided this place. Here is my experience:
(1). Hotel lost my laundry, and they told me it was delivered to someone on my floor and I should find it myself. (WHAT?!) 👿 (2). Hotel has the most unstable WiFi. You will not be getting anything done online using their WiFi. 📶 (3). Hotel only accepts cash. They have no POS credit card machines. 💵 (4). I skipped hotel breakfast because it was bad. I swear I had a better breakfast offered to me by a Syrian refugee family. 🥐 (5). The room stenches with lemon cleaning chemicals, and it will give you a headache. 🍋 (6). Very frequent power...
