We've stayed here twice now this last year, once off season last September and high season last week. We were delighted with the place as it gave me wheelchair access from the main street and to the car park from out back to well proportioned rooms with large bathrooms. There’s no wheel-in shower though for those who need to know and I use a bath board I bring everywhere which fitted across the bath no problem. There's also a wheelchair accessible toilet in the foyer too.
The service and attention from staff at all times is courteous and comforting; makes you fell you are part of the place. On entering from the main street, you enter a small square hall and can go directly into the lounge bar where you can invite in friends for a drink or a meal. It’s decorated in an old Irish bar style and is quite atmospheric. An alternate door brings you into a comfortable foyer with lounge chairs before arriving at reception which is in a little recess and does not lets its business interfere while you browse the papers and relax. There are also some small reclining areas between the reception and the main body of the hotel rooms where you can relax in peace, read a book or sip away on your favourite drink.
Being in the town's main street, you have instant access to all the little shops, art stores, locally made woollen clothing & other goods, plus the endless array of restaurant, cafes and pubs, all doing splendid seafood dishes from the nearby Atlantic ocean. The Irish hotels are doing good deals these days due to the current recession and the rates here are quite attractive for a week or shorter stays. We took the 3-day one and never moved the car from the park after settling in. The only dining we sampled there was the breakfasts of which there is a huge selection that will suits all ages, children as well. The porridge with cream and honey is to die for, plus there is the traditional Irish breakfast but for something very different, do try the smoked kippers with a squeeze of lemon. In fact you could eat too much at breakfast and have to go for a nap before setting out into the fresh air, of which there’s plenty. We'll be back for...
Read moreDingle Benners Hotel without a doubt is the best place to stay in County Kerry! Benners is a very charming hotel that is filled with beautiful antique furniture and appointments throughout the rooms, lobbies, restaurants, bar and sitting areas. It has an old world glamour that is hard to beat. Do not miss their complimentary breakfast every day of the week. It has something for all types of diets from healthy eating to the full Irish breakfast (try the bacon!). If you're lucky Viktoria will be your hostess and she will no doubt take great care of you. The restaurant also has fine dining if you feel like staying in and a very well stocked bar, it is Ireland after all! Enjoy a cocktail while sitting in the lobby. It made me feel very sophisticated, which my wife and daughter will tell you is not the case. An award winning Afternoon Tea is also served daily. Because of the Irish climate the buildings are heavily insulated which causes the rooms to be warm. So make sure to leave some windows open and the fan running while you are out exploring the magic of Dingle Town. Additional fans will be supplied if requested.||As I stated this is the best place to stay in County Kerry and what makes it so marvelous is the entire staff. They make you feel so welcome and do everything possible to make your stay memorable. As with all of Ireland, not just Dingle Benners Hotel, it is the people that make...
Read moreI’ve stayed at Benners Hotel 7 times since 1995 and it seems it just gets better and better with each visit. We were really lucky to even get in this time since it was all booked up online. Breeda is so wonderful taking care of just about every need you have. Brida (different person) is so warm and welcoming. Adriana at Reception is always smiling and treats you like family. |We love this charming hotel simply for itself and also its location. But it doesn’t hurt that the rooms are very pretty with super comfy beds. There’s lots of room to your away stuff and a nice bay window to look out of. The bath has a REAL shower with the sink faucet having the hot and cold water merging together in one spout! Woohoo! |There’s a small fridge in the room as well. |Benners Guests have a private CAR PARK! Breeda actually gave up her parking spot for us when we came back from dinner to a full lot. What a Sweetie!|We had lunch in the elegant/cozy Mrs. Benner’s Bar 2 of the days. And ended up for a nightcap there also 2 of the days. The Breakfast is terrific with your choice of buffet but also cooked entrees. The Coffee is BREWED!! Best coffee we had in the entire 3 weeks over there. |We love this Hotel. I always think it will be our last time, but I think we may need to make one more trip to Dingle but only if we can...
