Family stay, two adults, two kids 13 year old and 11 year old..was meant to be a family room but unfortunately it wasn’t…. Apart from not getting a family room which I’m still unsure why we didn’t. I stand corrected but I think they may not have any or over book….that said I couldn’t fault the this Hotel for anything else it has to offer. Very clean and modern. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced had breakfast included in stay, we also had lunch and dinner….and of course I had to try the Guinness out was only ok but not bad for a hotel in general. I switched to Coors light which was perfect. All round nice place to stay and eat. Terrace was nice to enjoy some food and drinks and we were very lucky with the weather….they actually have a big green just off the terrace which my two boys kicked ball for a few hours so everyone was happy. A cab rid was only 12€ to city centre in a which the hotel booked for us on two occasions and they were super fast to arrive each time and no issues getting back. Staff extremely friendly, especially Massimo. Would we stay again yes but only as a couple unless we got a family room.

Located slightly off the beaten track, the hotel offers a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Despite this, access from the city is quick and easy. The service is top-notch, reminiscent of a homely atmosphere or a small hotel rather than a modern one. This is a huge advantage of this place. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The beds and bedding are top-notch. The hotel is surrounded by green spaces and outdoor tables, where you can experience the privacy and tranquility of the surrounding area. The food I ate was always fresh and properly seasoned. The ingredients were professionally selected by the chef. I always enjoyed breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There are fewer and fewer such places, and the food and service elsewhere often kill the good atmosphere with routine and a lack of development. This was not the case here. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and restaurant.

The very minute you walk in there was a relaxing atmosphere, which is exactly what we were looking for, met with a lovely restaurant, bar and reception all together. The staff were so friendly and all seem very happy to be there, which makes me think it's also a lovely place to work. We had a set menu which was delicious along with a couple glasses of wine,as you do. Buffet breakfast next morning was really lovely, plenty to choose from. The window in our room wasn't locking properly which was the only fault, not realising this till early next morning with the wind from storm Denis, but I wanted to leave early because of the storm so didn't get to enjoy the late check out, otherwise I'm sure they would have fixed the window if I'd asked. I stayed in room 209. Will I stay again? Of course I will, and have already spoke very highly of the hotel and more especially the staff. Thank you.

Probably the worst service I have ever experienced. My wife and her family had a meal here on Saturday night last. There was 10 of us. And to say it was bad would be an understatement. It was actually a health hazard. We went there at 7.20pm and went to get a seat outside. The tables were filthy and cluttered. Eventually I had to ask a member of staff if they could get someone to clear the table we were sitting at. A staff member came out and took away a couple of items and didn't return to take the rest. We moved to another table and picked up a menu that was on the table. When we went to order we were told that this was the lunch menu from earlier in the day and was no longer available. Which meant that the tables had not been cleaned for a number of hours. We got the evening menu and gave our order. The tables still were not cleaned. The lady that served us then brought out water glasses and left them on the table upside down onto the filthy unclean table. When our food arrived there was no food for my wife. And she had been the first to order. She was told it would be 6 mins waiting. The food eventually arrived 20 minutes later after everyone else had already eaten their food and she had to eat alone. My wife was having this meal as a late birthday meal as my sister had passed away a couple of weeks ago. She was so angry and upset. It was like something from Fawlty Towers. At one stage she was waiting at the bar to get a drink for almost 20 minutes. The place was not busy so the staff were not exactly under pressure. It is a shame because the hotel is very nice and the food is good. I will definitely be making a referral...

This was our worst stay during our two week road trip around Ireland. The town is wonderful - so absolutely visit but stay somewhere else.

First, I’ve helped open, operate, and design over a hundred hotel. I’m an expert in this space. Whoever designed this hotel made some really major mistakes.

No air conditioning - not uncommon in this part of the world so that was OK, just open a window. Unfortunately, this hotel placed a busy restaurant right in the middle of the building (instead of at the end). This resulted in noisy rooms for almost half the building. People waiting for taxis in front of your room, talking until late at night, the smell of smoke coming in from outside, drunk people yelling outside. If you stay on the other side of the building, there’s another large number of rooms above a dining patio with lots of noise.

The beds were also bad - it wasn’t a single mattress. Instead, they pushed two double mattresses together so there was a strange gap in the middle of the bed. The staff were friendly, but not helpful. They seemed shocked anyone would complain about noise from outside.

It’s clear the owners invested too heavily in making this a cool restaurant / bar with hotel rooms as an after thought. So go for food and drinks, but if you want a comfortable and restful night,...

I'm camped out in my room and I refuse to leave until 3pm......This is what I would call a high-end budget hotel. So the staff were really nice here until it was time to leave. My room was booked as a late checkout (which is 2pm) because I was working a night shift and needed somewhere so sleep before I could drive safely back to Dublin. When I arrived at the hotel, the guy checking me was aware of this and said to me that they can give me till 3pm, their suggestion and not mine, so of course I accepted delightfully and said yes, that would be brilliant. At 2.05pm I was woken by the cleaner pounding on my door and then opened my door and shouted into my room for me to get up and that it is time to leave. The room phone has since rang with nobody on the other end, the cleaner has also given the bottom of the room door a really amazing clean with the vacuum cleaner, so top marks for cleanliness. It now 2.25pm now and I refuse to leave until it's 3pm. I'm very much awake now and there is no way I'll get back to sleep. I'm sure this is a lovely hotel, but this experience has left full of rage and the motivation to take to the Internet to share my experience. Everything else has been overshadowed by this and I can't remember if I like anything else about this...
