Stayed at Camping Serenella in one of the Eurocamp Premier Lodges. As a family of 4, with two children (4 & 7), the lodge was spacious enough and well equipped. Booking the Premier Lodge gave us three bedrooms and the extra space was very much appreciated for storing suitcases. |On arrival, check in with Eurocamp was easy and our lodge was ready before the expected time. The lodge was clean and tidy upon our arrival. We paid extra for linen and towel pack and a welcome pack. |The beds were comfy enough, nothing amazing, but no complaints. |We really enjoyed the site as a whole, staff were friendly, animators were accommodating and amenities were all good. |There's is a mini market on site, this is well stocked and not overly expensive (there's a eurospar about 10 minutes drive away, and items were not particularly cheaper there). The on site market has fresh bakery that sees queues from the moment the shop opens, give it half an hour and the queue dies down and there's Still plenty left. Only downside regarding the shop, there was little on offer in terms of fruit and veg. Apparently there is another fruit and veg store on site, but this is only from June/July. However, there is a fruit and veg van that parks up on the path into Bardolino. ||The pools at the site were nice, there were plenty of sunbeds, chairs and parasols, however, May was fairly quiet. I imagine that it would be more of a battle for loungers during peak season. Its worth noting that the pool doesn't open on days when it is forecast storms/rain. ||The location of the site is probably what made this site ideal for us as a family. It has its own private jetty and grassed area on the lake, again a popular spot. The promenade Is excellent for strolling to Bardolino and Garda, though it is quite busy with cyclists. There are also 4 beach bars nearby the site, all serving food and drink and sell take away pizzas. ||Evening entertainment for the kids was good, the animators accommodated us. Entertainment started around 8:30 in the evening and ended around 10 - included discos, talent shows and treasure hunt. ||The site felt safe and welcoming, well kept and tidy. |We had some heavy rain during the week, so some pitches looked on the muddy side, however, the lodges were unaffected. ||We really enjoyed our visit to Serenella and would recommend the site to friends and family. We have never done a eurocamp before so didn't have anything to compare it to, but we were pleasantly surprised by...
Read moreOur main issue with holidays is we always want to revisit everywhere again because revisiting places where we’ve made lovely memories is amazing, however within 10 minutes of arriving at Serenella we knew this wouldn’t be the case with this holiday. Our eurocamp cabin was squeezed into a minimum space with nowhere to park our car. We popped back to reception and after much chat between the staff we were shown a parking place at the far end of the camp, when we suggested that wasn’t what we were either expecting or would be happy to agree to we were met with such aggression from the receptionist that we felt threatened. We then unpacked the bedding only to find the duvet cover had two large holes in it. There was a bracket on the wall where a TV probably should have been fixed but nothing there.|Sitting outside at any time was not relaxing with the constant noise of traffic on the main road just a few metres away and the smell of cigarette smoke from the neighbouring cabin wasn’t pleasant. At night the windows had to remain closed to shut out the noise and smoke |Using the shower needed careful planning, allowing it to run for 5 minutes to get warm and then jumping in for the 30 seconds before it became dangerously hot then timing the next 30 seconds as it cooled down again before returning to ice cold water for a further 5 minutes with this cycle repeating for the duration |Having no WiFi is always a mixed blessing but we weren’t made aware of this when booking and there was literally no signal in the camp ( update after being here a week we realised there is WiFi we just hadn’t been given the code, when I asked reception why we had not been given the code on check in I was told we don’t give it automatically you have to ask, no idea why other than to make your stay less pleasant) |The positives are food in the restaurant is ok, although not as good as we were expecting from Italy, there are however some wonderful restaurants along the path around the lake and only a short walk to get to them, the bed was comfortable and the cabin was...
Read moreSituated within walking distance of Bardolino and Garda with direct access to the lake. Staff were friendly (particularly in the restaurant) The food was the restaurant was reasonably priced and very tasty. We didn't eat in the restaurant but they do take out. Note there is a €1.50 service charge per adult to eat at the restaurant. The pool area was good. ||We stayed in a Eurocamp "comfort" accommodation. As per other reviews there is no parking next to these caravans. There is parking near the reception but this isn't within the barrier. There were 8 caravans very tight together, you didn't have any privacy on your balcony/verandah if your neighbour was also outside. The outside are was a good size, 4 chairs and a table, 2 loungers and a clothes drying rack still with room to move around. ||The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary crockery/utensils, a microwave, dishwasher and hob ( no oven) Not that it bothered us but there was no TV in the unit and this wasn't clear until we received the booking voucher. The shower was very difficult to control the temperature. It was either very hot or cold. We struggled to maintain the temperature whilst showering. The master bed DOES NOT fit a standard UK double bed sheet. It was larger, unsure if you could call it a "king sized". The bed in the master room squeaked every time someone rolled over. Good amount of storage, including under the bed. We didn't use the other bedroom but there was storage available.||Overall if we were to stay at this campsite again we'd look at other providers of caravans instead of Eurocamp as there were plenty of other caravans that had more space /...
