Osteria Al Capitel — Restaurant in Bardolino

We enjoyed a very nice meal at the Osteria Al Capitel. The food was fresh and delicious, the service was lovely and the location is despite first doubts inviting. The menu is not overly extensive but you can find a wide variety of local food. Vegetarian meals are offered (though not labeled). My highlight was the home made dessert, a panna cotta with grappa. (and there are other home made desserts) At the end, we asked for a place to go bathing and swimming, and the waitress gladly told us (in her best German) about our possibilities.

Absolutely amazing, can't believe we found this gem only until now! Inside it's small and vintage styled, outside there's more space on the terrace (which is also vintage decorated). The staff was super kind and welcoming. The food was delicious and fair priced. We had the vitello tonnato and pike with polenta for starters, and the steak and tuna steak as main course. AL CAPITEL: SEMPLICE MA BUONO Ho scoperto "Al Capitel" per caso passando per la strada che dall'hotel Parc Hotel Germano conduce al centro e ci sembrava accattivante, decidendo di prenotare per la sera. Buona scelta. Locale spartano, tipico dell'osteria, si mostra senza fronzoli ma che ti fa sentire subito del luogo: anzi, non sembra nemmeno di essere al lago. Il servizio è ben gestito e la padrona - con cui alla fine ci siamo intrattenuti in due chiacchere, spiegandoci persino la sua passione per le caffettiere appese all'ingresso - è molto gentile. Puntuale, senza particolari pressioni e nelle tempistiche adeguate. Menù ben strutturato anche se aggiungerei un po' più di piatti tipici e/o del territorio che, sicuramente, non si trovano altrove. Piatti che comunque ci sono come i bigoli con le sarde del lago o con trota salmonata. Secondi striminziti invece, solo due lo sono: il fegato alla veneziana e la trota affumicata. Il cibo, però, è meritevole. Piatti ben serviti dalle belle porzioni che ti sfamano: io mi sono preso i bigoli con le sarde che erano molto saporiti, si scioglievano in bocca e la pasta era fresca, mentre il secondo era un'ottima trota salmonata affumicata ben spinata (ne ho beccate solo due di numero) da quel gusto lievemente affumicato molto piacevole. Inoltre era molto grande! Prezzo assolutamente nella norma: primi sui 10-14 e secondi meno di 20€, la trota arriva ai 17,50, più che onesto per la grandezza del piatto. Consigliato per una serata all'insegna della tranquillità!
