Hotel San Salvador — Hotel in Bellaria-Igea Marina

Sometimes what they promise in brochures is false. In this case it's all true: all the services offered by the hotel are true and they are matched with a great availability and kindness by Poggi Family.||We chose this hotel to spend our Summer holidays because we looked for a hotel for our son (he's 1 year old). He eats paps composed by vegetable soup with minced meat or fish. Well, they prepared fresh paps every day basing on the requests given by me the day before. When I contacted other hotels they answered me to use homogenized food, while only San Salvador told me that they had no problems to prepare any food and it was really so!||We reserved Ninfea Vip room: it was large with a very big balcony,bathroom has a window. Beach umbrella with two sunchairs are inclusive in the price, the same for softdrinks present in minibar.||It was inclusive in the price also bike rental and yoghurt for our son in the afternoon!||Parking for car is also inclusive and reachble with a pleasent walking of 5 minutes from the hotel. ||We went on trips three times during our holiday week: Sant'Arcangelo di Romagna, San Marino and Gradara, three beautiful historical centres to visit and very closed from Igea Marina, so that we were able to come back to the hotel for lunch.||More than anything else we appreciated the familiar atmosphere: for example the waiter was so kind with our son that he brought him to visit hotel kitchen when he flew into a tantrum during lunch or dinner!||Thanks to San Salvador Hotel: we spent a beautiful and...

'Welcome home' is the catch phrase of my favorite hotel chain in the north of Italy; this phrase applies to San Salvador as well. We received a personal and heartfelt welcome by Sabrina and the two brothers Stefano and Federico. So we started our stay of 4 nights on the right foot. And we stayed on the right foot, as we were pampered with a nice and functional room and excellent food in the Emilia-Romagna tradition. And all this for more than a (end-of-season) competitive price. Fantastic location only a step away from the beautiful and long-stretched beach. It is truly a family hotel: young and older families together. One comment on the dining area: it is canteen-like and when crowded, quite noisy and chaotic; but we did not mind as the vibes were good. Not only the cooking team but also the waiter and waitresses deserve to be mentioned; always a smile and ready to help you out. We were slightly disappointed that no gluten-free bread was available, as mentioned when we made the hotel reservation, but this was made up with tons of other gluten-free food, too much too taste it all. And one tip (and it may sound silly but it is not) for when the next renovation will take place: I would significantly lower the toilet seat in room 52 as my long legs were still dangling when using the toilet. Almost all of Bellaria-Igea Marina consists of family-owned three star hotels. It's hard to differentiate them from the outside because they compete for similar customers with similar facilities. With 50+ rooms, San Salvador is one of the larger of these hotels, on a side street with no beach view or easy parking and what could kindly be called essential rooms. What distinguishes it are the two handsome bachelor brothers who run it, Federico and Stefano. They and their staff seem to remember the name of every guest and they go out of their way with service. The dining room is buffet only, with surprisingly good food. The chef has been with the San Salvador for 15 years and knows what he is doing. A pizza oven, a pasta station, an extensive salad bar, and an ice cream corner ensure that that every appetite is catered to. A weekly happy hour enlivens the front terrace, and every afternoon a series of healthy refreshments (fruit, yogurt, health drinks) are free for the taking. The hotel has an agreement with a well-equipped local gym, pool, and tennis court; entrance free of charge.
