Pros: Reception staff was friendly, helpful and spoke English well. The hotel is in a great area if you have a car, and you just want a place to sleep and nothing more. Elevator inside.
Cons: Breakfast is in a very small room that can get extremely crowded and i'm positive that in peak season there might be a case that someone might not be able to eat because there are not seats/tables left.
Breakfast had a small variety. Croissants, bread, cereal, 2-3 kinds of fruits, cheese, bacon some terrible omelette impossible to eat and a few other things. Extremely basic.
I asked the reception where i can buy a ticket for the bus and they informed it that i can buy a ticket on the bus from the driver. Not only that was not the case, but also every bus driver that i spoke to didn't understand any English at all. So, i was in a very sketchy situation, not having a ticket and not knowing what to do. FYI: Just install the ATM Milano app and buy one online.
The Air Conditioning in my room wasnt working properly. No matter how much i changed the temperature it wouldnt change. Nor would the fan speed change. I could only turn it off or on.
My TV remote wasnt working properly as well. It seemed to me that the batteries werent being held tight in place, so if i wanted to use the remote i had to remove the battery cover and pressure the batteries with my hand to hold them in place and then use the remote. Not nice.
I bough a sparkling wine from a nearby super market and i wanted to get an ice bucket to cool my drink and i also wanted some glasses to drink. When i went to the bar, the barman was probably having a break, which is not a problem or bad at all. The problem is that, it was so difficult for him to just get up, it showed how bored he was. Finally, he gave me the ice bucket that i wanted, but he didnt give a towel. Anyone that has used an ice bucket knows how much humidity comes out of the bucket after the ice cubes melt. And of course, when i asked for glasses he gave me plastic cups. Because who doesnt want to drink wine/sparkling wine in plastic cups? Perfect! Excellent service, thank you.
Some towels were dirty and had stains on them.
It only has an indoor pool that is accessible to people outside of the hotel. It doesnt state anywhere that to use the pool you have to pay extra. I.e. it states that the wellness center charges extra for use. But it doesnt state anywhere the same for the pool. My suggestion is to make it crystal clear. I was extremely disappointed when i learned that to use the pool (aka wellness center, which was mediocre at best) you have to pay 18 euros per 2 hours. Note: Keep in mind that children are allowed, so if you are looking to relax at this mediocre "wellness" center you might not be able to because there might be kids doing...
Read moreHow this hotel has managed to get a 4 star rating is beyond me. There is absolutely nothing 4 star about it. We booked this hotel thinking it would be handy to get to Milan City Centre and Bergamo as it is in-between and beside a motorway. It has a leisure centre and this was the main attraction for us. Unfortunately, what you actually don't find out until you ask at reception is that you have to pay €18.00 per person for a 2 hour stint at the pool! There are no life guards and no indications of the depth of the pool. After 4 days there we found out that the gym is actually included in the price of your stay. You need to get someone from reception to let you into the gym and pool. We were told on check in (on Friday) that the restaurant would be closed on Sunday night. We stayed in Milan with friends on Saturday night so we weren't too bothered by this. On Monday night we went to enquire about the menu for that night and were then informed that the restaurant was closed for the rest of the week! Thankfully there's a supermarket across the road, a Japanese all you can eat restaurant and a bar/restaurant so you won't starve but the bar/restaurant doesn't have a great selection for vegetarians and vegans. Be careful going to any of these places though because you are on an extremely busy industrial carriageway with no pedestrian crossings - extremely dangerous and moreso if you have children with you. The corridor to the bedrooms was filthy and the room was ok - bed linen was clean although it had holes in it. The bathroom was ok too but not thoroughly cleaned under the sink or the shower area. The shower worked thankfully but had shoddy fittings (a bar going across the top of the shower fell onto my son whilst he was in the shower). There was dust on top of the tv so the room hadn't been dusted in quite a while. Out of 6 sockets in the room, 4 had been pushed into the wall so were unusable. The wifi was non existent. The AC was very noisy and despite having settings, there was no difference when settings were changed. There is no direct bus into Milan - you need to get a bus (bus stop is very difficult to find) to the metro station under the train station into Milan. The bus stop is literally on the motorway. You'll need to download the ATM Milano app to buy your tickets before you get on the bus. When we were checking out the following Thursday the only comments from the receptionist was to tell us how much we owed for the pool - no "hope you enjoyed your stay" or any customer care type comments at all. They actually couldn't have cared less all week. Absolutely no way does this place deserve 4 stars. We won't stay...
Read moreI stayed at AS Hotel Cambiago from Friday to Monday and found the overall experience to be a mix of comfort and inconvenience. On a positive note, the hotel itself is very nice—clean, modern, and affordable. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and comfortable, and the staff were polite and accommodating throughout the stay. It felt like good value for money in terms of the facilities and presentation.||However, there are a few important points future guests should be aware of. The hotel is located directly off a motorway, which makes pedestrian access difficult and even unsafe at times. Google Maps wasn’t very helpful when trying to find the actual hotel entrance on foot. Although the website claims the hotel is only 20km from Milan city centre, this distance only applies if you’re driving. For those without a car, the location is quite inconvenient and isolated, especially if you’re hoping to explore the city or rely on public transport.||The hotel also advertises that guests can reach destinations like the airport or exhibition centres “without paying expensive taxi costs,” but this didn’t reflect our experience. The only transport available was a private taxi offered through the hotel, which was as expensive—if not more so—than Uber. For example, the quoted price to Milan city centre was a minimum of €75. They also refer to this service as a "shuttle," but it is not a shared shuttle bus—it’s just a single taxi driver working independently.||Another issue was unexpected additional charges. We had to pay an extra £30 to access the spa facilities, something that wasn’t clearly mentioned on many booking sites. While we expected the spa to be part of the overall hotel offering, it turned out to be a separate, hidden cost.||The breakfast was very minimal, which wasn’t surprising for a continental breakfast, but still might not meet expectations for...
