My wife and I and our 2 children (5 and 8) was there for a week july 2022.||||The camp site was nice and very close to the beach. The swimming pool area was great, and the childrens disco every night was a hit for our daughter.||||But...||||The restaurant is a complete disaster. After arriving we went straight to the pool and when they closed at 1pm, we went to the restaurant for lunch. My wife and son got their food, but the pizzas we ordered for me and my daugher didn't come. After some time we saw some other table getting some pizzas, but they already had some. I'm guessing it was ours...||||We asked if the pizzas were coming because some of us was almost done eating and we got a hurried and annoyed "yes, the pizzas are coming" from the male waiter, who you will hear a lot about in this review...||||When they finally come, we asked the waiter why we had to wait for 45 minutes for the pizzas. She couldn't speak enough english to explain and got the male waiter who listened and started to argue, until he saw that my wife was not going to take that from him. So he said a very insincere "yeah yeah, sorry" and left us there.||||We avoided the restaurant because of this, and we saw him stare at us when we walked by, feeling really creeped out that he made us feel so unwelcome at our vacation site.||||Some days later we tried the restaurant again and we got mr. Grumpy as our waiter. Yay!||||I asked for the wine list and he put three wines on the table. No explation, no prices, no information what so ever. I asked for the Ripasso and he took away the other two bottles. Then we expected wine glasses to appear and that the wine was opened, but guess what...? Nothing happened!||||We sat there for 10 minutes before we started talking about getting up to get his attention, but also he had made us feel so uncomfortable and we didn't want a major conflict or anything. Crazy thoughts to have on your vacation, right? Well, he managed to make us think like that.||||We got another waiter who was the only one who spoke a reasonable amount of english and she got our wine glasses and yelled at the male waiter to open our wine.||||5 minutes later another table had the exact same issue and she REALLY yelled at him.||||Food was great though. But when that restaurant is the only real alternative to cooking in your trailer, the service has to be better. This is a camp site with 5 stars on it, and I'm assuming they don't award themselves the stars.||||And now for the final thing that ensures that we will not come back ever.||||When we checked in, we made sure that everything on the inventory list was there because we had to pay a €100 deposit in case something was wrong. Everything was fine.||||When I came up to hand over the keys after a camp site employee had checked the trailer and said nothing about any issues, I was asked if there were any other issues than the missing toilet seat.||||The what?||||The missing toilet seat!||||I'll spare you the details, but the top cover of one of the toilets was missing and we didn't report that as a problem, because we kinda figured that if it was a problem, then the previous check would have found it. Or the cleaners. It was like that when we arrived.||||I'm a reasonable and calm person, but I got pissed off and said that if they want us to check for missing toilet seats then they should put that on the inventory list!||||It was €35 to replace it and we agreed to split it. Those €17,50 cost them this bad review and several others and I will actively warn people from going there.||||The absolute unacceptable level of service at the restaurant and this extortion scam or whatever they have going on is so far below my...
Read moreThis is the second time we've stayed at this campsite, it is perfect for families with young children, with lovely pools, an onsite supermarket run by lovely, helpful people, a restaurant and bar also run by extraordinarily hard working, friendly, kind staff and right on the beach. The playground on the beach is superb, the animation team are kind and fun, there are bicycles to rent and helpful staff in the bazaar shop, which is also on site. I have rarely come across such a hard working team of people, who are often to be seen opening the facilities at 7 am and shutting down at 11.30 at night. A remarkable team of largely self-employed people and a lovely place. ||||Sadly, all of this is sabotaged by the extortion scam a small group of reception staff are running in conjunction with cleaning staff to supplement their incomes. Although no photographs or inventory is taken at the beginning of your stay, the staff accuse those who are staying in the apartments and who are foreign based of damaging the furniture, and state that they will keep the deposit (which must be paid in cash - no card payments allowed) and even try and demand more money from you when you check out (in cash). The first time I only got my money back after threatening to call the Carabinieri: I thought it was just a bad apple so we went back this year and they tried exactly the same ruse again! The impunity with which they try this ruse on the foreign tourists is jaw dropping. I told them they were a bunch of thieves and I would be taking action and they looked scared and gave me back the money immediately, but it was a sad and repulsive end to what had been a good holiday. This gang of thieves are letting all the extremely hard working people of the camp down, as well as giving the area bad name. I have lodged a complaint with the local police for extortion and an attempt at fraud. Hopefully they will put an end to this disgusting behaviour. If you do face an attempt at extortion at this campsite I would recommend that you:||||- ask to see dated 'before' photos for any alleged damage||- tell them you will call the Carabinieri and lodge a complaint if they don't return the money to you||||To protect yourselves when entering the accommodation I would recommend that you buy a newspaper and keeping the newspaper in view, take photos of the state of the apartment before you unpack, including the balcony, the kitchen area, the bathroom and any furniture. Also take photos of the contents of the kitchen equipment, which is very limited so shouldn't take you much time. ||||When you leave make sure the apartment is completely empty. If you have items that you cannot take with you, ask around at the bar, supermarket, bazaar and animation team to take them from you: I know from experience that people are happy to accept opened bottles of olive oil, sun umbrellas, unopened bottles of mineral water and so on.||||Overall then: a wonderful place, marred by criminal activity by a small group of directly employed campsite staff targeting the foreigners whom they perceive to be able to afford their demands for cash upon exit. Sad, sad, sad. I...
Read moreWhere did they get the other three stars... We arrived to a Clampinghouse/Trailer, it was the middle standard houses and when we opened the door, we stepped on a dirty, broken floor, a broken shower and some spots here an there. But whatever its holiday, we are not that demanding and we just sleep there, so we didn't mind. So before we settle, we tried to get some water bottles, cause there's no sign if the tap-water is drinkable. So when we tried to drive out, we harshly got (Italien way) taught, (rest of the world), yelled at to leave the car. When we tried to figure out where we can get water, the guard just waved us away. I understand there is siesta, and it was our mistake, to overlook the signs, BUT the way, the Italien version of Jean-Claude Van Dame for poor people, was letting us know, was either Italien standard or just extremely impolite.
During 11p.m. the night-guard had the same attitude like his daylight-fellow. Yelling at soft speaking people they should keep it silent. Its good they keep the night peace, but there were same nights it was somehow ok the be louder then other nights.
The most interesting thing was, a day before we left back home, they announced it´s better to check out, the day before leaving. Sadly we were on a day trip, so we asked in the evening before our departure, if it would be ok the check out. We got (Italien way) taught, (rest of the world), yelled at, we have to come the next morning at 6 a.m. because 200 Visitors will check out and we sill stuck till midday because of the millions of cars which block everything. So we took a chill-pill and went the next they around 7 a.m. the the reception, where we missed the 199 other vacationer. Maybe they all checked already out at 6 a.m. or the repture was already and we missed it. To our surprise, not even the receptionist was present. So we got cafe at the restaurant and came back at 8 a.m. Still no 199 other campers but at leaste the reception was occupied. Within 5min. we checked out and spend the last hours on the beach and with a polish, very friendly room-inspector.
So we visited this "village", actually it felt more like a prison some times, the first and last time.
The italiens who worked there, were far from polite and service-oriented, rather the non-italiens (rest of the world) who worked there, was very friendly and...
