I ended up in Chivasso by accident while traveling across Italy by motorcycle, with no knowledge of the town or any place to stay. Of the hotels I found in the center, Hotel 45 looked the most promising, and it turned out to be a good find.||||The hotel is a family-run operation, and I was immediately greeted by the very friendly wife/owner and her young son (shame on me for forgetting their names). Walking in the lobby feels like walking into a good, high-class lounge, with marble columns and inviting leather furniture. There is a main building and another building with more rooms across the internal courtyard. There is also free garage parking. I asked for a room with a balcony, which are in the detached building.||||My room was a bit small -- not cramped, but small -- but nicely decorated and appointed, with individual air conditioning, a queen bed and an LCD TV. The bathroom was also small, but with a good shower, as well as a bidet if you need one, and the hotel's own branded shampoo, soaps, body lotion, etc.||||If you spend any time in your room -- which I did as I was quite tired -- a very welcome amenity at Hotel 45 is Sky Italy satellite TV in the rooms. Unlike any hotel I've ever stayed at in Europe, most channels give the option to change the language audio to the original language, which worked out well, as much of the programming is originally in English. There is also free internet, but I did not use it.||||The only downside to the hotel is that it appears to not get much traffic. There was only one other guest in the hotel when I was there in August. The effect of this is that the rooms seem not to be regularly cleaned. My room was not dirty, but it was dusty, and there were cobwebs on the balcony. Breakfast was somewhat spartan, but one can't complain about "just" having good Italian ham, cheese, bread and espresso, as well as yogurt, cereal and fruit juices.||||Above all, the owners are very accommodating and friendly, and made my stay quite pleasant. I can easily recommend Hotel 45 to visitors...
Read moreWe stayed here for work and few times last year and will again this year. |I've had different rooms each time and all are great. The beds comfortable, curtains thick. There's a stocked fridge and a clean modern bathroom. The air-conditioning works well whether you want it hot or cold. |It's always clean and the staff are always friendly and helpful. |They don't do dinner but there's plenty of restaurants within a short walk. They do however do breakfast which is exactly as you'd expect with a continental hotel. And the lady who works breakfast is lovely, she's learned that I like strawberry yoghurt, so goes off to get me one when she sees me coming! |If i had to find a downside it would only be that there's nowhere really to suit outside except the car park. There is a few chairs and tables but on your day off its not where you'd want to sit for hours. |That is however the only vs thing I can say and it's not that bad! |All in all, a lovely...
Read moreWe stayed at the Hotel 45 twice last month. It is a family owned and run hotel a short walk from both the pedestrian zone of Chivasso and the train station. We arrived by car which was quite easy and their secure parking lot made it even easier. The owners, Tore and Luisa (and their sons Leonardo and Lorenzo) went out of their way to welcome us and accommodate our needs. They even allowed us to keep our car on their parking area for a week while we went off on a train journey across the continent (literally). ||The hotel is recently renovated with clean, modern, comfortable and spacious rooms and a great breakfast. ||Chivasso is a great place to base yourself not only to visit Torino (a short 15 minutes away by train) but also the surrounding countryside. In addition, please don't miss the small, sweet town of Chivasso itself with its plethora of cafes, bakeries and...
